If you’re going to bring up our auto bid then you have to bring up tcu’s auto bid from the 2014 peach bowl 1 of their 2 nyd bowl wins.
TCU didn't get into the Big 12 based on what they did on the football field. It was a desperation ploy by the conference to get back to 10 teams based on their media contract.
TCU's then AD (interestingly now Texas' AD) got on his hands and knees and begged Deloss Dodd for an invite.
It was a weird situation. The TCU AD met with the Texas AD thinking that he needed to sell TCU. The Texas AD was only interested in knowing the personal story of the TCU AD, they didn't talk about TCU. After the dinner, the Texas AD was happy and let TCU in because he liked the TCU AD. He didn't realize that it was a job interview for his future replacement. Texas politics.

what would be amazing and the ultimate crotch kick is if Wichita St got the invite to the B12 and the rest of us just had to sit and watch lol.

Big 12 should add:
Colorado State
Missouri State
Nebraska Christian
Texas A&M Corpus Christi

It's going to be funny when UT, OU, OSU and maybe a few others leave and the remaining Big12 schools scramble to join our conference.
We should pull the same **** with them. Make them present why we should take them, then ultimately say nah.

Just like when the big east was down to 3 members and was still more attractive than cusa, a b12 down to 4-5 members would still be in a much stronger position to invite the best aac schools.

Bad news for UCF: too cocky and overplaying their hand. No sustained success compared to upgraded Utah and TCU who actually had a history of power status before decades long streak of beating almost every "power team" they played including winning bog bowls. No 0-12 years like UCF. 120 years of playing D-1; Unlike the 20 plus history of UCF. Heck, UCF has no sustained success compared to Boise.
Good news for UCF: Get to continue to play with the big boys in the AAC who've been playing for a long time at the top level (except D-1 newbies USF and UCONN)
P.S. Oh and stadium less USF who can't get 10,000 actual fans to attend their games....Big 12 for you guys? Bawhahahahaha
When USF was in the Big East they averaged an attendance of 40,000 in a stadium 30 minutes away from campus. If USF joined the Big 12 or any power conference they would be at 40,000. If they had an OCS too they'd be at 50,000.

If the stadium was nice 60,000. If they marketed the team 80,000. If they were winning 100,000. #usif

Doubtful. Most USF fans only come to games for the pirate ship.

Yep. AAC teams will climb over themselves once again to get into the remnants of the B12.

I wouldn't be so sure. Let's say the big12 loses UT, OU, WVU, OSU, and KU.
The remaining schools would need us much more than we would need them.
Iowa State, Baylor, Texas Tech, Kansas State, TCU would be begging to join our established conference. I say **** them. Especially Baylor.

As far as you can be sure of anything in sports, I've never been more sure of anything.
Every school in the AAC would run to put on their presentation about why the remaining 4 teams in the B12 should add them.

Exactly. Most likely if the b12 falls apart, worst case scenario is Texas, tech, OK and osu to the pac 12. Maybe WVU and Kansas move to the ACC.
Leaves with tcu, isu, baylor, and ksu. Aac schools would still move to that.
It'd prob become those 4 plus smu, Houston, Memphis, usf, ucf, Cincy, uconn, byu.

The day the Big 12 pays $40 mil/year for 2 directional schools in essentially the same market (neither of which deliver it), is the day UT, OU, OSU, and KU bolt for the SEC and B1G.

Issue would be, do those four teams have a conference to invite anyone too? Worse case scenario might have UT, OK & Company simply dissolve the conference so there are no exit fees.
AAC might actually be in the position to invite as opposed to being dissected.

One of the little directional schools has the 2nd largest enrollment and a $65 million budget and ballooning. Plus 2 major bowl wins in 5 years. Plus delivered massive ratings and 2nd highest peach bowl ratings ever with Notre Dame and LSU playing at the same time. I know the big 12 isn't expanding, but the dig a the directional schools doesn't have any basis. What direction is central anyway?
