The good news is we as a fan base have become so cucked to being acceptant and expectant of mediocrity, it even takes RRM 2 days to chime in after a loss and he isn't even that mad anymore since the only games that matter anymore are the ones in early March in Denton, TX.

Just to be perfectly clear I was indicating that the anti Jeff Jones club will keep growing. I was not referring to that desperate group we put on the court twice a week.

I think JJ is actually feeling heat this year. Three things have happened that either don't make sense or are out of crater for him tat lead me to that conclusion.

1. The short bench makes no sense for the reasons you stated above, unless JJ is trying to rack up a bunch of wins so even without making the tournament he and Wood can say he won 23 games, so it's ridiculous to think about making a change. The schedule also is set up for that.

2. JJ playing a faster pace? Change is definitely out of character for him.

3. Making an effort to get fans to come out to games. Can't remember a time in his 5 years when he has led a push to get fans out and engaged.

Looks to me like there is a sense of urgency this year that we haven't seen thus far.

absolutely, attendance is as low as it has been since 13-14, coming off that 2 win season. between jeff jones, conference usa, and the team jeff has put on to the court, it shouldn't be a great mystery to anyone as to why we're in a pattern of perpetual mediocrity, losing nearly every meaningful in state contest, falling further and further by the wayside in our own state... i could go on all day honestly

3. Making an effort to get fans to come out to games. Can't remember a time in his 5 years when he has led a push to get fans out and engaged.

Looks to me like there is a sense of urgency this year that we haven't seen thus far.

absolutely, attendance is as low as it has been since 13-14, coming off that 2 win season. between jeff jones, conference usa, and the team jeff has put on to the court, it shouldn't be a great mystery to anyone as to why we're in a pattern of perpetual mediocrity, losing nearly every meaningful in state contest, falling further and further by the wayside in our own state... i could go on all day honestly

I wonder if it would be worth promoting Stith to interim head coach next year with BJ as a senior and see how he does just for a season then either give him a contract or move on.

I am all for making a move for next season, though i am not sure if that is the right move and could potentially end up a disaster. I cannot stand wood selig, but I do think he had the right idea with the women's hire. if we could make a move like that for the men's team it could be a splash, no question that the men's team has much more in place to be successful than the women's team did when nikki took over.

i'm not a basketball expert, but in the last 17 years we've had blaine taylor and jeff jones. i am so ready for someone young, enthusiastic and actually does bring an exciting brand of basketball


don't get me wrong i loved blaine taylor, but i am ready for something FRESH, i don't want the next guys team to look or play anything like jeffs teams, this brand of ball is tired
