You're being ridiculous. I could also post a picture of fencing, but as with your picture, that would prove nothing.

Why stop at a wall? The Great Wall didn’t keep the Mongolians out of China. If Trump is serious about this we are going to need moats, draw bridges, and catapults.

The spit it out tommy... Is your position that the physical barriers we have in place are sufficient even though much of it is less intimidating than a "keep out, dog on property" sign?

I mean for petes sake, who here thinks there are not walls or fences anywhere on the border... NOBODY... But what does that have to do with the price of tea in China?

What we have is not working..

until the 20th century, the wall was never defeated militarily.

At the points when the wall was least effective it's because it was not one long continuous wall but a bunch of walled areas with big gaps (kind of like our current border situation)

Just more amateur hour from the child-in-chief.

Neither they nor you must have watched the entire meeting. He made it very clear that a wall had to be part of the agreement. His version of a "clean" bill was different from DiFi's.

"Yeah, I would like to do it," Trump said during the meeting, according to The Washington Post.

Wow I didn't see that coming.

Fit, if you were truly paying attention, when Trump took a swipe at DACA you would have seen that he wanted a law that took all of these dreamers out of limbo and moved them toward something stable and permanent.

The problem is that the liberal media purposefully left that information out when reporting to the public because they wanted to keep the left base riled up.

someone posted that a few weeks ago......

from an engineering perspective, I'm 'all-in' on that one.....loved the concept as soon as I saw it....

I'd query that thread, but the search engine on this site is as effective as my short term memory at times.....maybe the original poster could help me out.....

Legitimate questions.

The concept of utilizing the wall project for other things fascinates me.

I have seen proposals for passenger rail, water pipelines, oil pipelines, and roads. I think adding one or more of these to the mix would make this into something amazing.

Read some of the comments above. With their hyperbole, they basically read like there is nothing more than a line in the sand.

RE: Trump endorses clean DACA bill
Some of you like to bring up the cost of this wall like its going to break the bank. Now I have a question about the money it saves vs cost.

If this wall just stops 40% of those entering the U.S. and then gets caught how long would it be before it was saving the U.S. money?

It cost the Feds $80 a day to house a federal prisoner. So lets say a million gets in each year and now this wall stops 400,000, I guess you would need to find out how many get caught each year once they enter this country.

I read a figure where 27,505 (36%) of illegals were in federal prison in 2014 and I'm sure it's way more than that that are in county jails waiting to be deported. The Feds pay for that stay. So if it just stopped 40,000 a year that would be over a billion dollars saved if each of those were in prison for 1 year.

That does not take into account the cost to those that a crime was committed on. Yes, 10 billion is a lot of money...but money that also saves in other area that the government is spending huge dollars in

There are sections of border with no fencing...not all but some. Then there are areas where the fencing is inadequate to stop a toddler...again, not all but some.

controlling expenses was my concern.....however, yes to the concept.....that's how you get ball rolling....

no engineer develops 'first pass' thinking it's 'final draft'.....

the exception to that rule would be the dippos that hit the 'return key' when they open their yammers.....

Or course. And they need shored up...at a cost way less than trump's fanciful border wall

Walls can't vote. That is what this is really about, not money. Hell our govt pisses away money of dumber stuff daily.
