RE: North Texas
Saw Carver playing at top of the key, trying to make inlet passes to Trey. Not sure how often I've seen Brandon try that. Could be on Offense Carver plays further out than Brandon? At any rate Carver is simply not an offensive guy. As teams start to key on Porter, someone else has to step up. Caver was awful last night.
WKU and MT are going to be loads to handle.

That is why you need scorers on the team. Law of averages says most games someone or multiple someones will have below average games. When you have a lot of scorers, chances are someone will also have an above average game. You have seen it all season. Someone usually steps up and fills the void. When you have 2 players on the court with no threat to score, like Baker and Denzel, the effect of an off night are magnified. Porter saved our arse last night just like Haynes did against Dayton. If not for the 3/4 court heave, you could say the same thing about BJ @W&M.

I think consistency vs inconsistency is the real difference between mid-major players and P-5 players and between 3rd place teams and first place teams.

Denzell used to always (and was quite good at) the outside-in passes from the top of the key. I think they're trying to get Carver to fill a similar mold as him.

Have to wonder if Trey's big game happening when Brandan was limited was just a coincidence.

I don't know how you can say that. Brandon and Carver are almost clones with their two games and one or the other is usually in the game with Porter. I believe Brandon takes some pressure off Porter by being alongside him. Brandon may have struggled some lately but he is still playing hard and is a very tough rebounder.
Not sure about the clone statement. Brandon provides at least some offense, Carver much less. Got stuffed by the rim on a dunk for crying out loud. Brandon helps a lot on the defensive end with his shot blocking threat but on the offensive end it seems clogged in the lane. When Carver is in there it seems like Trey has more room to work because he spreads it out a little more. I like the sets where it's just Trey down low.
This is what I was thinking. Of course it could be a total coincidence.

We're going to need Brandon Stith to be ready for the WKU game. Justin Johnson is still there and he's a bruiser as well as being athletic. Stith is one of the few on the team who will be able to hang with him on the defensive side of things.

Mcclinton would be yhe ideal player to defend Johnson, imo. That is where his injury affects us.
