I’d love for it to be in either NYC or NOLA but I wouldn't count on either.

Fort Worth is actually a decent location: a town small enough to actually need the event, close enough to a number of fan bases and warm enough not to have to cut through the parking garages just to avoid arctic gale force winds. Ticket sales there will probably be much better than Hartford, Orlando or Memphis.

Uncasville, CT is an excellent selection.

Ft Worth will be good for Shocker fans. We typically took 5-7k fans to St Louis every year even with a curse on the place so I would expect as many or even more to show up in Ft Worth.

Wasn't Tulsa in the mix for hosting at one point?

Yes, I think New Orleans should be the permanent host site.

There was a whole thread on that a year ago that talked about certain venue problems in New Orleans and the fact that the sunbelt holds its conference there.

Orlando was a great host, the location and arena are great. But, besides UC and UConn fans, there really was no one there. Ditto last year outside of Uconn games.

Memphis would be perfect if they were better, and they should be again eventually. If Ft Worth has a great area around the arena, that might work really well. UC fans will travel anywhere it's reasonably warm after winter.

Nawlins is perfect in theory, but there are too many logistical issues.

Willing to give Ft Worth a shot, but probably best to just park it in Memphis.

Plenty of good Brazilian steakhouse options in DFW

Nice. Special $99/night rate for you since I know you're in a very exclusive minority among your fanbase.

$99/night as well as long as there's no mention of Jalen Adams' miracle shot during your visit.

If you break the one rule then there's a $500 gloating surcharge.

RE: Opinion: American Conference Tournament back to New York?
Don't see New York being viable - there's a lot of competition for the unaffiliated ticket buyer between the Big East and lately both the B1G and ACC, as well as the A-10. Renting out one of the two major arenas is god-awful expensive, and basically everyone other than UConn and Temple fans have to get on a plane.

I think the conference has the right idea trying to make the tournament as drivable as possible for the most amount of fanbases by sticking it in northern Texas or Oklahoma (even if it's inconvenient for me personally). Most of the western contingent can get there by car, while the eastern contingent is too spread out for a similar scenario.

Memphis is the most central location for all AAC schools, point blank.

Probably. But its not really very close to anyone other than Cinci. Madison Square Garden worked becasue it was Madison Square Garden and because it was close to large number of the Big East fan bases. Lets see how Ft Worth plays out--but I have a feeling thats going to work best because it driveable from so many schools. More importantly, its pretty close to Memphis, Wichita, and SMU--3 programs that do a good job of filling thier arenas. If those three fan bases show up big and get just a little help from Houston, Tulane, Tulsa, and the Dallas area locals---it could pan out really well.

Who knows--I may be completely wrong--but the driveable distance thing is usually a key for making a G5 bowl work. It makes some sense that the same would be true of the conference tournament.

Orlando has been tried and failed

It really just needs a smaller venue. 22,000 seats are too many. Let UCF host it.
