I'm still absolutely amazed at the enigma of speed talk in the this, and other, thread. Speed by itself is useless if guys can't catch or hold onto the football.

Luckily UCF has no problem with catching or holding onto the football.

1st in Scoring Offense
T1st in Blocked Punts Allowed
2nd in Team Passing Efficiency
2nd in Turnover Margin
T2nd in Blocked Kicks Allowed
3rd in Turnovers Gained
3rd in Completion Percentage
T3rd in Passes Intercepted
T4th in Defensive Touchdowns
5th in Total Offense
T5th in Blocked Kicks
T5th in Fumbles Lost
T6th in Fumbles Recovered
7th in Passing Offense
T7th in Turnovers Lost
T8th in Interceptions Thrown

In fact, they have a knack for doing just the opposite. Combine that with speed and there’s a reason we’re undefeated.

In summary, give me a team that efficient in offense/defense/special teams and you'll find success. Where does UCF ranked in penalties, another important stat? What is a good website for these stats?

UCF ranks near the bottom in penalties but so do numerous other potent offenses due to procedural errors while trying to maintain a fast pace. In fact, Ohio State, UCLA, UCF, Memphis, South Florida, Toledo, etc. are all in the bottom 10. Luckily, penalties do not equate giving the ball away.

The stats are from NCAA.org.

07-coffee3

True, penalties do not directly equate to giving the ball away but they can be drive stoppers or worse result in 4 and outs. Thanks for the stat location you use, I'll check it out.

Penalties can certainly do that. Luckily, that hasn’t been the case for UCF this season.

I believe that 99% of those who post or visit here want UCF to beat Auburn. Some, like myself, believe it will happen. But dismissing the talent and coaching of Auburn is, I hope, just a players confidence getting a little hyped. My gut feeling is that Auburn wants to make a statement so the Knights better be prepared.

Wow, that's really, really, really bad.

If you wonder why the American has horrible bowl tie-ins, there's your answer.

Sure, it's 2 days before Christmas and people love to hate Birmingham, but your team is 9-2 and it's a drivable destination from lots of places in Florida.

We also went there last year. Who the hell wants to visit Birmingham twice in 365 days? Also, we had a decent crowd last year. Most people bought the tix on stubhub for cheap.

None of that matters. Selling 1,000 tickets to a bowl game with a 9-2 team means we have zero leverage to lobby the Liberty Bowl, Texas Bowl, Belk Bowl, etc... to try and upgrade.

You're going to be outdrawn by Texas Tech which is 6-6 and much further away. Sad!

I re-read this thread from the beginning and got a good laugh at the UCF doubters and the SEC/Auburn superiority complex. The Auburn expectations were overwhelming in this thread. IMO, outside of perhaps the top 5 or 6 teams in the country are beatable by the top G5 team every season. But that's just my opinion of course.
