The fall semester ended yesterday so I think he is eligible... I'll check on that and pust an update on the Bull Run twitter.

Please remind me how Wes Clark came to transfer from Missouri. Thanks.

This article does a pretty good job explaining it:

So he has one grade coming in today which will determine if he is eligible, I'd wager that it's going to be fine.

Wes Clark is now eligible and expected to play tonight. UB should have everybody but Caruthers tonight which could mean it’s now or never to take down a high major.

Eh, UB barely hanging on here down by 8 with about 15 mins to go. Not their best game up to this point

Ball State beats North Florida 79-65. NF is a strange team. I don't find them all that great but they can lull into bad shots and they score in bunches.

UB took a 68-67 lead with 3:10 left but Syracuse responded with 3 to go up 70-68.

Massinburg just missed a 3 now. Syracuse ball with 2:37 left.

Wel, I guess chalk up another bad loss for Buffalo. Syracuse by 7.

This league really needs to do a better job scheduling teams. Nobody cares to watch the league play teams like Jackson State and Prarie view. I can’t even imagine fans of those schools do. Buffalo on the other hand will be playing another Top 15 Team tonight when they face Texas A&M.

Do you think TAMU cares about playing Buffalo? Sure maybe they pull the upset, but it's not exactly like the MAC is a premier basketball conference. We are a 1 bid league and most big boys can't name more than a couple teams in our conference. It goes both ways.

I’m talking about you as a MAC fan and I think as a CMU fan based on your profile. What do you prefer to see, your team play four non-DI teams or to go on the road and challenge itself against one of the top teams in the country?

Fans may want to see their team play and beat the likes of Notre Dame, but with where our programs are at is that really likely to happen often? Avoiding low majors and D2 or NAIA is preferable, but going through a Charlie Cole's death March isn't good either. Ideally we'd start landing home and homes with decent mid majors from two bid conferences more than anything else

I agree we shouldn't be playing 4 non-Division I teams. On the other hand, there's not much point in a team like NIU playing a top team. A middle-to-low Big 14 team is about the most we can handle right now without the game getting ugly.

Speaking of scheduling, tonight KSU hosts Oregon St. at the MACC. I think this is the only power conference team to play at a MAC arena this year, and I can't remember the last season another P5 team visited the MAC, let alone a PAC-12 team.

RE: MAC Basketball 12/11-12/17
I don't envy MAC ADs and coaches trying to create schedules. You can't play all your games on the road, and you'd like to be able to bring a P5 team in once in awhile. Nice that Kent was able to do that this year, but here's this from a story in the Indianapolis Star today about Butler trying to create a schedule:

Quote:A resurgent Ball State would be a natural opponent, and the teams have already met 105 times. It is role reversal for Butler, a former mid-major that now belongs to a power conference.

“That was a good rivalry back in my day,” Jordan said of Ball State. “We’ll see. I don’t know about home-and-home.”

If they aren't willing to travel to Muncie, I'd rather not play them in Indy.

But it's stuff like that that makes it difficult to create a quality schedule without doing something to similar to Ball State this year and playing a gauntlet of road games.

I did see that..Do you know how that game got set up? That's great to get them to come to Kent State.

2 for 1 deal, Kent played at Ore St last year and will travel there again next year.

I don't like the fact that CMU plays 3 non-D1 teams, but you also need home games. No top team (at least very rarely) wants to come to a MAC arena.
