Starting at WR for Arkansas State, graduate transfer Marcus Green!!!
Got a nice ring to it...
From what I'm hearing about stAte's scout team . . . Marcus wouldn't even be the best WR named Green on our team next year . . .

Of course not. Hope he doesn't ditch ULM as a graduate transfer.

Good point. How does that work? I assume a new ticket, wonder how the $$ from the revenue shakes out? Home team should get a bigger split. Away team should get travel costs. I'm sure Mr. Peanut gets his little greedy hands in the pot.
BTW, I was driving to the game last week and listening to pre-game. He told Bobo that he had sent SBC reps to all of the other G5 championship games in Boca, Orlando, and Boise so they could "learn and observe how other conferences handle the games" I thought, what a waste of $$ by the Commissioner's office. What in the hell could his minions possibly learn from taking a trip to Boca to watch FAU play a football game against North Texas? I would think picking up the phone and picking their collective brains would be more than sufficient. Someone should audit the expenses of the SBC commissioner and fire that clown
Seriously? That is very smart on the league's part. Why would you not go to the other championship games and see what works and what doesn't work. You people will ***** about anything.

One thing that helped A-State attendance is many people rather than taking a refund on Miami got vouchers for multiple tickets and it was last chance to use them. I know one business owner who is a big AState fan bought 50 tickets and changed his radio ads on sports talk shows touting free tickets. Took about an hour for them to all go.
The announcement that end zone seats were being removed also created a sense of urgency.
Real winners were the people who had end zone GA seats. They got upgraded to assigned upper level seats.

Who’s your QB next year?
Probably Kaleb Barker, who has seen playing time
This year and had recorded a couple TD’s... He’s more mobile than Silvers and can sling it, QB won’t be a issue... and we have other RBs besides Chunn as you saw.
My thoughts lead me to believe it'll be Sawyer Smith. The QB competition will be legit in the spring.

Was a UCF commit before he flipped to us. Last year his first college play was 47 yard td pass. He was Brandon's back up last year. We red shirted him to have the extra year eligibility but if something happened to Brandon we where burning it.

East is way more stacked as of today. I dont think anyone thinks GS is going to remain a 2-10 type team because we dont have a 2-10 type program. CCU can only get better and GSU is now competitive. A lot will depend on who UL and USA hire to see if the west can catch up. ULM still has a ways to go TBD. TXST is screwed with that HC I believe.

You've obviously never run an event before. You really that concerned over a few thousand dollars spent on hotels and plane tickets is that big of a deal? Are you that naive, that you don't think this happens all the time across all levels and sports?

Exactly. People are prisoners of the moment. Just like the fools who think the AAC has pulled away with one strong season of beating up on the bad teams in their league. Everything is cyclical.

RE: Championship game
People seem to be writing off App for 2018. Don't forget Troy has to come to Boone next year. Even if App drops another conference game, the probable East division "championship game" for that all-important tiebreaker is played in Boone. A place where Sun Belt teams have gone 2-14 since we joined. It's been 763 days since a Sun Belt team won in Boone.

I know it happens, I just don't have faith that Benson and crew are doing much more than goofing off and wasting $$. Maybe all that crack research will help Benson's crew put on an event similar to the top rate job they have done with the conference basketball tournament. His daughter can be the sideline reporter and he can come up a few days early and play a round of golf and have a luncheon.
I don't like Benson. He is arrogant and smug. He comes across as an elite jerk in interviews. He doesn't seem to appreciate or respect the schools in the conference.

Beat me to it... Predicting the Sun Belt is a fools game.
Four or five teams could easily come up to the top. Lots of new coaches and no huge talent disparities or not enough where coaching cant make up for it for now.
