All Conference Awards
One more win and Doug Martin would have been my pick but they only had two close losses. 6 losses with four not that close knocked him out in my book.

Over Duck, ok.

Eight first teamers - a record that will stand in a 12 member SBC for obvious reasons.

App loses NINE all conference players next year, Satt has his work cut out for him.

If there's a better corner in the league than him, I haven't seen him.

He's tied with Duck in interceptions, tied for second in passes broken up, and even against Auburn no one was able to get the best of him.

ARKST losses Dee Liner and their all world DE Rolland Jones. Troy losses Silvers, Chunn, and some other key players.

A lot of people penciling in these three teams. We all have a lot of work to do if we want to be at the top of the league.

RE: All Conference Awards
Calloway from Troy should have been on this list, this man lead their D- Line in tackles and did not even get a honorable mention. QB Silvers only gets a honorable mention and he lead the Trojans to a Sun Belt Conference Championship. Is there no checks and balances when it come to the list? Good thing this list does not impacted their NFL status.

#1 in passes defended
T4 in passes broken up (1 less than the 3 guys tied for first, so effectively T2nd)
T1 in interceptions

A lot of good DBs on that list ... the only one he possibly could have been on instead of was Blaise Taylor, but his name carries too much weight. PBUs are such a subjective stat.

Compared to Duck:
Same number of interceptions
Brinson +6 passes defended (17 vs 11)
Brinson +6 passes broken up (12 vs 6)

So yea. Doesn't mean Duck isn't good. But Brinson deserves 1st team.

You can't, and shouldn't, always look at the numbers on DBs. The coaches see these guys on film throughout the year. You get a friendly crew keeping stats and your PBU numbers can climb a little bit higher than others, just like tackles (why some places are WAY higher than others).

Well I'm not looking at tackles for CB....if they're high on tackles then they're either not stopping pass completions or your defense is absolute trash.

Places like PFF have watched Brinson too and rated him high consistently, independent of any member schools. He's good.

I hate we have to argue about this, if we had an 8/9 win season he'd be first team right now and Vildor would likely be 2nd or 3rd team and this would be a moot discussion.

Not saying he's not a good player, just saying that those are four pretty damn good DBs on the list. I would probably have him over Taylor, but like I said, too much hype out there for Taylor that he got on based on his name.

You've got the DPOTY and two other guys who are tied for the interceptions lead -- tough sledding this year, just like the DL. SBC offenses were down from a star standpoint this year, not the case on defense.

RE: All Conference Awards
Brinson is good. He'll likely have a shot at the NFL. It's just hard to take one of those other 4 guys off the list, especially when GS was 2-10. Like it or not, record and seniority tend to play a role in these lists. He'll be first team in 2018 and 2019, barring injury.

When QB don't throw to your side because of your reputation it's hard to compare stats. I'm surprised every time a QB throws his way.

Not all of those DBs are corners. Safeties DO have to make tackles. Jeremy Reaves makes a lot of them.

Reeves is the second-best defensive player in the league ... don't think you would find many who would debate that.
