Both of us wanted a bigger name team based on the seasons we've had. It's pretty mutual. Troy fans are excited to see Troy. That said, most of us have come around to playing North Texas. A division champ that ran the belt in 2001-2004 vs a shared title holder that ran the belt shortly after from 2006-2010. The old kings get to duke it out.

Our strengths of schedule are relatively similar. Not really enough difference to say one had it significantly easier than the other.

A lot of NT fans saying you have to take the level of competition they faced in CUSA into conservation when it comes to how Troy and North Texas have performed during the year. The narrative is that CUSA was was much tougher than the SBC. Here's why that's bull****:

I do think overall CUSA was better than the SBC this year, but only by the hair on their back. It was really, really close. The arrogance from their fans that our teams don't compete at the same level comes from not just a few, but a lot. If they underestimate this Troy team because of the patch on our uniform, they will get destroyed.

I think that’s possible. We had right around and maybe over 30,000 the last couple times we were in the Nola bowl
