Yah but....support your school.
If every fan thought that way, DIII would be a sealed fate.

If the goal is MVC and we are going backwards toward that goal. I'm in the minority but I would rather save money and be D2 or D3 and focus on academics.

The only way for UMKC to get out of the of the Summit/WAC is to win and they don't do that under KR they are 54-75 and their best season is 18-17 with a CBI quarterfinals appearance and for his salary of $250,000 he should be producing more than what he has to this point.

You don't like your school playing in front of crowds? The SLT averages over 9,000 per session with 12,000 in last years semi session. The WAC had what, a few hundred in Vegas?
UMKC need to do something before even the Summit will consider taking them back. USD, a team not picked to win the Summit, a team that had to replace its entire front line toyed with your team last night. It was sad to watch.

You really think UMKC is getting into the MVC? Ummm, ok.... not going to happen.

Gearing up for tomorrow’s game against U C Riverside. That was a horrible loss last time. I hope the Lopes come out strong and don’t let up. Don’t want another USD experience.

Was at the UC Riverside game. Had another atrocious night at the 3-point line. I did not even know it was possible for a team to shoot 4 for 36 from the land of three. Ouch!! Plus these were mostly wide open shots. Riverside was daring us to shoot as they sat in their 2-3 zone. If we shoot threes like that on Tuesday against St. Johns we are going to get whipped!
As for positives, there was a lot of hustle and great defense by and large (although Blumbergs seems to have problems when he has to switch onto a short, quick guard). Also thought Shaq Carr played well. It seems Coach Dan is experimenting with play Shag and Benson at the same time when we face smaller line ups. I think it has some potential.

RE: WAC Men's Basketball Game Thread 11/27-12/03
Noticed that #336 rated NAU (previously 0-7), went into Bakersfield and came out with a win against the future BW Roadrunners. That certainly did not help our WAC ratings.
At this point in the season it seems like the Aggies are far and away the best team in the WAC.
Halfway through the OOC schedule I would rate the teams in the WAC as follows:
(1) NMSU
(2) GCU
(3) UVU
(4) SU
(5) CSUB
(6) UTRGV
(7) UMKC
(8) CSU

Horrible game! MY only highlight from that game... I like our announcer, John Doss.

The Aggies had an uninspiring win (69-57) today over Prairie View A&M. They did not look good. Too many turn overs (18) and lost the rebound battle to a smaller but scrappy team (33-31).
The only positives were AJ Harris is starting to breakout; with his last two performances. And, Jemerrio Jones continues to be a workhorse on the boards.

Increasingly it appears the WAC is not going to be competitive this year. Maybe 12-2 for NMSU this year. Would not want UMKC to finish 4 or 5th this year.

If Braun is hurt GCU is in trouble. Benson is not that good to carry the team. Overrated player big time. I'm liking our chances more and more every week.

NAU is bad. Like embarrassingly bad. Losing to NAU makes you automatically #8

Im looking to see if this 'Runners team can develop more consistency. That seems to be their issue so far. Talent is there for this to be better than a WAC fifth place team.
Hoping the NAU stinker will wake them up.

They really need to. CSUB played a good game against UCLA but then choked hard. They won't get beyond the WAC semi final if they play like that all year.

Seattle U destroyed Hayford's old team, rival Eastern Washington on Sunday, then beat up D3 Puget Sound today while resting startwrs. SU has now won 4 in a row and has blown out two D1 mid majors in Detroit-Mercy and EWU.

I watched the Belmont, Washington, and EWU games and it does look like Seattle U. is improving game by game. The players are finding their roles. Kavas and Hill have been impressive. For me, it will be interesting to see how NMSU matches up with Seattle's size. The Redhawks are taller at every position. However, it will also be interest to see how Seattle matches up with the Aggie's speed.

It would be nice to see SU win games against the WAC elite (except NMSU of course). They beat GCU 2 years ago and should have won against CSUB last year.

RE: WAC Men's Basketball Game Thread 11/27-12/03
Ive really liked that every player that played under Dollar has transitioned well and not missed a beat under Hayford, except for Ulaneo. Despite very underwhelming stats at Wisconsin and Vermont, both Hill and Hearlihy are going off this year. Hearlihy has become almost another William Powell. True freshman, and local, Aaron Nettles has been bery nice too.
Besides St Marys this week and Cal next week, the rest of the OOC is very easy. The team has been on a roll and I'm ready to admit I underestimated the talent Hayford has utilized. I think SU will finish top 4 in the WAC this year, even as high as #2. Plus Matej Kavas, even as a rsSophomore has a legit shot at WAC POY already. He has been playing out of his mind. I cant admit I thought any different from really anyone else in thinking Frayer deserved FOY over Kavas... but clearly the coaches saw what we didn't. At this rate, Kavas will be a top 3 player in the conference going forward.
Next year though.... Seattle U has to be considered a WAC favorite. The youth of Dollar's leftovers that are proving (just 10 games in) that they can excel under Hayford, better than they did under Dollar, will be joined by the 3-point specialists Hayford brought in. Especially Delante Jones. Hayford already is landing 3 stars with high major offers out of high school and the future is extremely bright. Lots to be excited about
