If the AAC wants to be considered a power conference, and this is not fun to say ; but get rid of Tulane and Tulsa and stay at 10. Here is why; I like both schools, both schools could have outstanding teams and coaches, but I have been to games at both places and that’s not big time athletics ( perception). To market the games I saw, reguardless of the on field results, is barely D1. Not sure either actually gets 10 thousand a game, and like it or not that matters. Unfortunately, with those schools, no matter how good the are, will never change.That is not power conference sports. Good sports? Yes , power conference? Absolutely not. The rest of schools do what big 12 does. 9 conference games, play everybody, top 2 In conference championship. 3 ooc games , hopefully some big boys in there. Now take a look at your schedule. Looking better now, both Florida schools, Texas schools, Memphis, Cincinnati,Navy,every year creating needed rivalries, better game day atmosphere, better brand, better game day experience. A more legit product. I have been to games at both places , no others is gonna argue it should be power conference .Again, I hope Tulane and Tulsa have great teams; their total package is not power conference package. This is just an opinion from following and watching games over the last few years from a conference trying to belong; I for one feel most of them do!

All of the P5 have their version of Tulsa & Tulane. And really, our version is more competitive than most of the P5 versions.

If Tulsa and Tulane were added to the B12, it would still be a "Power" conference....

I get the annual tendency to find supposed weak links and advocate for kicking them out, but it always seems to ignore a huge factor in conference realignment: academics. Like it or not, college presidents run the show, and every time things shift, a big piece of the conversation is how many AAU universities each conference has. Remember how big a hit the Big 12 took because they lost Texas A&M, Missouri, and Colorado? Those are all AAU schools. Conferences are athletic and academic. It takes both to be considered a credible conference.

The real answer is to add a Texas, Ohio St., or Alabama. Perhaps even a Clemson, Wisconsin, or Washington might do the trick.

Or, grow a couple of existing AAC programs to consistent top-20 rankings with fantastic TV ratings and attendance....and somehow retain them in the conference.

OR, get a guarantee contract with one of the NY6 bowl games in about 10 years.

Just FYI, I live in Florida; went to aac school,as big an aac fan there is, and just think this would make a stronger more marketable big time conference, by cutting the number to 10.You goofs are adding fictional schools and tossing criticism. YOu know what is cool with our conference..... were like dysfuntional family...sure we will bash each other...but don't be a outsider coming in here talking smack about its members because 10 different posters from 10 different schools will come to its aid. I really like this conference....and am glad that ECU is apart of it. I know everyone wishes they were somewhere else, the sure chip on our shoulders make us good conference mates.
