Arizona Bowl Drama?
They haven't announced anything yet (Supposedly it was supposed to be NMSU vs. Utah State) but SB Nation is tweeting that "The two teams they thought they had, are no more. Announcement still pending..."

I really hope the Aggies aren't getting screwed.

They openly said that the Arizona Bowl was the only bowl game their school could do from an economic standpoint, and it was reported that the Arizona Bowl commissioner understood that and was ready to extend an invite to them upon them becoming bowl eligible.

I would Hope, that after 50+ years NMSU would be smart and not LaTech up the bowl decision.

Congrats again to the Aggies!!! Now go win!!!! Make it count.

Apparently ESPN was trying to broker a deal to get Tucson to dump USU and put one of UTSA, WMU, Buffalo in to take care of another deal

I am really glad ULL didn't win Saturday. Watching ESPN basically pick and choose who missed a bowl today was really amazing. Something I'm glad they couldn't do to a Sun Belt team because we filled our spots with zero extras.

UTSA I could see, but those other names going to Tucson would be idiotic.

NMSU and Utah State is a good matchup and should be well attended by both schools.

I’m glad too. We didn’t deserve a bowl this season. Glad Nm St finally breaks their bowl-less streak. We Cajuns know exactly how that felt.

Our two 6 win teams are the best 6 win G5s and they go nowhere because of geography. Sad.

Nobody cares about or respects the MAC, for good reason.

They need fans In the stands. It’s not sad it’s a business. Are people from Buffalo going to travel to Mobile, AL or Montgomery, AL?

Unless they're a New Years game, no bowl committee is going to choose a team whose fan base is going to have to travel 27-32 hours one way to their game when they have an eligible team 4 hours away and another team 13 hours away, both of whom happen to have a long-standing rivarly going back decades.

Unfortunately it comes to location and marketability, and those stadium leases aren't cheap. Sometimes 6-6 doesn't get the job done.

UTSA (6-5) got left out of the bowl selection despite having better records than some of the other CUSA teams.

I think we squeaked into the Frisco Bowl in front of UTSA because we beat the Roadrunners in what was the season finale for both of us. You are correct though, UTSA' 6-5 record is indeed one loss better than our 6-6 record.
