Congrats Coastal. WTH GS?
There's obvious staff changes coming, I'm guessing the motivation wasn't there.
In any case, the game didn't really mean anything in the big picture. What's the real difference between 3-9 and 2-10? Nothing really.
Just pride. Y’all seemed to exude it after winning the last two.

They'd been playing for nothing but pride for so long that it could only go so far.
Chadwell also had some motivation to coach his ass off against us, and CCU had never beaten us before.
But really, this game meant next to nothing. I've spent more time talking **** about CCU's mascot (cause it still has balls on its chin) than even trying to say what would happen...it was that much of a wild card.

We made an awful decision. Out AD is easily the worst in D1 and really hung Lunsford out to dry. No reason at all to name him the coach before the season ended.

This post sounds like some sour grapes after a convincing loss to us.
It's a little bit of a superiority complex to think that because we haven't beaten you before, that you were circled on our schedule or something as the one team we just had to beat this year.
Keep in mind, we came into the game with only 2 wins too. We didn't have anything to play for except pride, and we went out there and won.
Both of our teams sucked this year, but GS sucked worse. Don't make it out like your team just couldn't get up to play us. We had nothing to play for but pride either.

Nah, he played it that way in case we lost. It would have been harder to name Lunsford today than last week.
Good win Chants. Will your HC be back next season?

Thanks. Same to you. Here's to both of our teams being much better next year.
Coach Moglia says he plans to be back full time starting in January but has left it with the caveat that he will re-evaluate his health at the end of the holidays.
However, he says he is confident he will be back. I think he will be.

Uh, nothing sour grapes about it.
Ya'll played like a motivated team. That's what I was getting at. We didn't. Nothing about that implies anything about you.
Fact is, Chadwell did have something to prove against us...anyone that paid attention to our coaching drama could have told you that. The thing about never beating us before was flimsy I admit, but it could have been a factor in the locker room...that's not something either of us would know though.
Nothing about what I said is inaccurate though. This game literally meant nothing. The difference between 2-10 and 3-9 is irrelevant because it's a big pile of ****.
I'm more interested in what happens with our staff in the next day or so. The assistants yesterday left a lot to be desired, but it was likely similar to walking to the gallows.

RE: Georgia Southern @ Coastal Carolina
Congrats to Coastal for the win. I had no idea what we'd do before the game, but thought we would compete better than we did.
I DO think announcing Lunsford as the HC prior to this game had an effect ... in that our two coordinators (who are now done), pretty much coached like they knew they were done. Same offensive approach that got us to 0-6, this game was called offensively similar to the first half of the season with virtually no passing early on.
That said, we did exactly every thing wrong in the first half and still were down just 4 points. We lost that game once Coastal successfully completed that fake punt. Kudos to Chadwell for making that call (a smart one at that point in the game), and on the CCU players for executing it. Definite momentum changer.
Finally, I think CCU having the off week prior to our game helped them out. Not necessarily from a planning perspective but it was clear they were just a little quicker and a little crisper. That makes a difference, especially in the later parts of the game.
Just finally glad to put this wretched season to bed.
