You can't expect someone who supports tearing down old traditions - and institutions - in favor of new, progressive ones that make them feel like they've created something original to understand what this move back to a time honored tradition means to millions who think that tradition is comfortingly reliable and that PC is ruining an entire generation.

Just refer back to the Beatitudes and then focus on the empty jesture of Donald Trump's gesture... Perhaps of he lived his life by these, this simple action might have a little meaning.

No, the “War on Christmas” was largely a ploy by the right, largely Fox News, to make conservative Christians feel threatened. Businesses have long preferred Holiday greetings to broaden appeal to all who celebrate this time of year. Municipalities have traditionally chosen to include all of their citizens in holiday celebrations as opposed to “most”. This has been done as long as I can remember... until now.

My pastor always said he'd rather that neither the companies trying to sell him a product nor the government itself coopt the birth of Christ to further their own agenda. Seems to be the most scripturally defensible position, but scripture has taken a clear backseat to much of the Christian conservativism.
