(11-25-2017 02:36 PM)usm99 Wrote:  With the way games are playing out I could see 82-84 bowl eligible teams possibly assuming Georgia Tech gets a waiver due to having a game cancelled. If so there could be multiple CUSA bowl eligible teams staying home. Here’s the current CUSA win totals:

FAU - 8
UNT - 9 (reg season complete)
UAB - 8 (reg season complete)
USM - 7
Marshall - 7
FIU - 7
WKU - 6 (regular season complete)
UTSA - 6 (plays La Tech)
ODU - 5 (plays MT)
MT - 5 (plays ODU)
La Tech - 5 (plays UTSA)

UNT won and FAU leads 31-12 after 3 so it should giveus a battle of 9-3 teams for the CUSA CG.

Nevada beats UNLV 23-16. Wisconsin has the TKO decision on Minnesota.

77 teams guaranteed to be eligible. 7 other teams still in the running with 83 maximum that can become eligible.

Because the six-win teams must be selected before the five-win teams. Or would a waiver also waive that requirement and allow GT to be treated like a six-win team?

My assumption would be the waiver allows them to be treated as a 6 win team but hopefully I’m wrong
Since 6-7 teams that play and lose a conference championship game have to wait behind all 6-6 and better teams, 5-6 teams should be no different.

ULM eliminated 67-50 by Arkansas State. 77 guaranteed, 6 more still possible.

ULL now down 24-7 to Georgia Southern. Not a must-win for the Cajuns, but it would force a win at Appy State next week.

NMSU beats Idaho 17-10 to survive for another week. Aggies host South Alabama next week.

Temple will beat Tulsa, and that shuts out all 5-7 teams with at least 78 6-win teams eligible.

ULL probably crushed to find out that the New Orleans Bowl wants no part of them this year.

RE: Week 13 games with bowl interest
At most there’ll be 82 bowl eligible teams and a minimum of 78.

In no particular order
78 - winner of Colorado vs Utah tonight
79 - La Tech if they win tonight
80 - Florida St if they beat UL Monroe (4-7) next week
81 - UL Lafayette if they win at 7-4 Appalachian St next week
82 - New Mexico St if they win at home vs South Alabama (4-7) next week

RE: Week 13 games with bowl interest
With P5 teams getting preferential treatment, here’s the 6 win teams or teams that can reach 6 wins from G5 conferences that will be fighting for the final few spots as there’s projected to be 81 teams for 78 spots. In other words, at least 3 of these teams won’t be in a bowl game.

AAC - 5 teams with 7+ wins
Navy (6-5) - plays Army in 2 weeks
Temple (6-6)

CUSA - 6 teams with 7+ wins
UTSA (6-4) - playing La Tech now
MT (6-6)
WKU (6-6)
La Tech (5-6) - playing UTSA now

MAC - 5 teams with 7+ wins
Buffalo (6-6)
Western Michigan (6-6)

MWC - 5 teams with 7+ wins
Utah St (6-5) - plays Air Force tonight

Sun Belt - 3 teams with 7+ wins
Georgia St (6-4)
ULL (5-6)
New Mexico St (5-6)

RE: Week 13 games with bowl interest
More important than records is to look at conference bowl tie-ins compared to eligible teams.

AAC has 7 eligible teams, 7 primary tie-ins, and likely gets the Access spot. One AAC spot likely needs a team.

MAC has 7 eligible teams, 5 primary tie-ins, and secondary tie-ins in Boca (doesn't help C-USA) and Detroit. One eligible MAC team might get left out.

MWC has 6 eligible teams and 5 primary tie-ins. Wyoming didn't help its cause to fill a replacement spot by losing to San Jose State, but probably all 6 teams find a spot.

SBC has 5 projected eligible teams if NMSU qualifies and ULL doesn't. It also has 5 primary tie-ins.

If 81 teams qualify, I think C-USA would get 8 of 10 teams in and the MAC would get 6 of 7.

Agreed on your breakdown. With La Tech about to wrap up win #6 for them which would give CUSA 10 teams with 6 wins, I’m afraid 2 cusa teams will be left out

If only 80 teams qualify, I think C-USA might get that 9th team in. I just don't see a way that all 10 C-USA teams make it in.
