Someone who calls a first-year QB who is putting his effort and sweat into winning "trash" = know-it-all who should be coaching.

Again, please send your resume to Rod Carey.
Once you're added to the staff, perhaps your "this ends the Childers experiment" comes true. In the meantime I will be rooting for the Northern Illinois and the Huskies led by Childers, Santa or Graham to beat whatever Sun Belt team we face in a bowl game.

I'm not the one who said trash. Never. Once. If you're going to argue, be accurate, not trash.

I never called Childers trash. Not once. My remark was that he isn't ready or talented enough. If you're going to argue, be accurate. Don't be trash.

When you have a QB who can't throw a deep pass to save his life - or even a consistent not so deep pass - it limits your O to the run. And that is pretty easy to defend when you don't have to worry about the pass.

Unfortunately, Carey is so stubborn with Santa, that we may be in this same situation next year.

Side note. If you want to watch good football turn on abc for the USF/UCF game. We would be .500 right now in that conference but I'd be ok with that.

No offense to him, but Santa is worse than Childers. NIU would be better off if there was system set up in the spring and summer to accurately evaluate the talent and make a decision on who to go with, and then develop that player with increased reps to get some cohesion with the receivers. What we will see is a 4 way QB race that is all muddy going into Iowa, and NIU will use 3 QBs at Iowa and say the decision is still tough to make. UGHHH

No, even if it was against a P5 school I wouldn't. I don't have much faith in this coaching staff and I'm tired of watching NIU blown out/losing in the postseason.

My thoughts too. It seemed like the players saw the Toledo score at halftime and completely lost their edge, especially the D.

That, and CMU just has our number for some reason.

It is hard on a defense when they continuously have to watch the offense go three and out.

Well, we for sure made some adjustments. We adjusted a good, well-performing team to that debacle we saw in the second half!

Not being able to run and forced to throw with a division title on the line, would have thought Santa would be given a shot. Offense really has no game breaker other than Huff

I would sure love to know what the hell went on in that locker room at the half. It was a totally different team in the second half.
