RE: Iowa game thread
We were up 31-22 at one point. For those of you that’re bad at a math, that means Iowa went on a 27-6 run since that point. Sad. Expected.

Yep! Not losing this one because of their three point shooting.
They've only made more than us. However, we've missed 9 threes to their 3 missed threes.
Have to stop making empty trips down the court.

Another long season ahead of us. I guess we're officially a football school now.

Biggest problem I see? William Lee 3-10 from the field. Several misses were those empty trips when we had a lead. If he would quit thinking he was Donyell Marshall or Robert Horry, he might be able to really help this basketball team. I am SICK of watching him fire jumpers from all over when he should get his lanky ass underneath and get to work.
I have been a fan of his since his senior season in high school but enough is enough. Either play like you want to win, and not just shoot, or get the hell off the court.
Sorry. Had to be said.

Lee is one of the biggest disappointments I can think of since I've been a UAB fan. He's basically the same player he was as a freshman. Not much growth in his game. Half time the time he's a ghost. Very underwhelming for his potential.

I agree completely. A lot of people here blame Ehsan for a lot, but to me, his biggest sin is building this team around a player that has shown he has the potential to be great, except he doesn't want to play 100% all the time.
I agree. Lots of blame to go around. A lot of it falls on the coach, but certainly the players, particularly Lee, are to blame.

RE: Iowa game thread
Lee is one of the most physically gifted players we've ever had at UAB. Unfortunately he lacks that killer instinct that makes good players great.
Cokley has been a beast this year, and his foul troubles seem to have faded somewhat.
I am excited about what we are bringing in next year, but unless Lee suddenly decides he wants to be the best player on the court, this is going to be another long, frustrating season.

Didn't Vaden have the same issue in his senior season? Seems like I remember him falling off after a summer of NBA workouts, too.

Lee didn't fall off. He never really had the requisite growth in his game to have a "fall off." He is he same player he was as a freshman

We became a football school the day Bill Clark took over. He will actually build us a strong program.
