Very few teams play more than 8.

We almost did it once, although with a much stronger OOC Schedule.

Haven't found anything yet, but while I was looking I saw next year's lineup for the Charleston Classic: Wichita State, Purdue, Alabama, Virginia Tech, Davidson, Northeastern, App State 04-jawdrop

The only team I couldn't tell by the mascot was some kind of red bird guy. Super speedy red bird head.

Speaking of turds, Southern Miss is playing Blue Mountain College at 8PM in the Sanford Pentagon Showcase. Who in tarnation is Blue Mountain College? And what in the heck are they showcasing at this tournament?

At least if it were Blue Mountain State, we'd see some folks we might recognize. Damn, can our conference be a little bit selective in what teams/tournaments we participate in?

Blue Mountain is a pre-tourney campus game. Not that the main field (South Dakota, Northern Colorado, Youngstown State and USM) is any great shakes.

More like the Sanford and Son Showcase because there's an awful lot of garbage in there.

Northern Colorado has one appearance in its history (2011).
South Dakota and Youngstown State are two of 46 D1 tournament virgins.

By contrast, Southern Miss's three appearances (2012, 1990, 1991) makes it the UCLA/Kentucky/Kansas/Duke/UNC of this motley crue. Er, crew.

And ODU would be, I dunno, the Looney Tunes team from Space Jam

Could've sworn Youngstown state has been. Maybe they got close. I was thinking south Dakota state.

RE: 2017 basketball
We are supposed to go back to the Paradise Jam next November. Guess the decision whether to relocate it or not will be made after the powers that be see how much St Thomas rebounds from two hurricanes. The Marriott Frenchman's Reef, HQ hotel for the tournament, was so damaged it will not reopen for two years! That's a big stumbling block...having to use another hotel that would be in good enough shape to handle that many players, coaches, support staff and fans. The Puerto Rico Tip Off Tourney this year was moved to Myrtle Beach. Be nice to go there...at least no expensive overseas flight!

This year’s event was held in that noted tropical party Mecca, Lynchburg.

Those results are just plain awful. Our conference is a sh** hole and it starts at the top. The people hired to run the conference are a joke.

I guess this could have been a question on a coach's show! Maybe we'll have to save it for the Big Blue Breakfasts later in the year. The 2018 Paradise Jam is supposed to have Eastern Kentucky and UConn as participants.
