Basketball conference challenges
Love stuff like what we see tonight with the Gavitt Games tipping off.

Gavitt Games- Big Ten leads 1-0
Minnesota over Providence

Between these challenges and the exempt tournaments- huge in setting the barometer for the season. And for the most part, they're great games!

RE: Basketball conference challenges
so far Big Ten up on Big East 3-2 in the Gavitt games. Only real upset so far was Creighton beat Northwestern(if you had told me I'd be writing that 5 years ago, i'd have said you were crazy(really on both sides)).

Tonight a good one with Xavier playing at Wisconsin.

RE: Basketball conference challenges
Big East now up 4-3 on Big Ten with just 1 game to go..... Huge win for Xavier last night at Wisconsin. No love lost for these 2 teams.

next up after this I guess is Big Ten/ACC? Or are there others?

RE: Basketball conference challenges
I think there are a couple or there used to be.

ACC vs B1G.
SEC vs Big 12.

Big Ten vs ACC and MWC vs MVC are both at the end of the month.

The AAC doesn't currently have a challenge. As a Cincinnati fan, I am pretty stoked about the discussions of an Ohio version of Indiana's "Crossroads Challenge" involving Ohio State, UC, Xavier and Dayton. Looks like it will be a done deal and they are now just figuring out all the details.

1 thing that would be better than Indiana is 4 different conferences, so could rotate thru the matchups possibly? Although Cincy and Xavier play every year so might be Cincy and Xavier as the anchors and you'd just rotate playing Ohio St and Dayton then???? Guess I could see that some- as Ohio St would probably love to never play Dayton.

Yeah, the devil is in the details on the pairings. I've heard UC and Xavier want to keep the Crosstown Shootout as a separate event so that complicates things. Location will be an issue as well, as Ohio State wants to play it in Columbus every year while the other schools would like to rotate in their venues as well.
