Cacok was 4th or 5th nationally in rebounds after the first game when he had 16. He had 17 tonight. Will be interesting to see where he stands after game two.

Highlights from Davidson's SIO. They will be giving a lot of people trouble...

And WHO designed those black uniforms?? Nothing wrong with the color black...just everything else about them I don't like.....

Gotta review the tape, then burn it and put this one behind us. Because of Chris Clemons, this is not quite your older brother's Campbell we'll be facing on Saturday night.

It will be interesting to see how we play against Campbell. I think we all agree our Defense has to improve. We let up a ton of points against a non D1 team and got scorched by Davidson. We can score, but we are not an offensive juggernaut like we were last year. We have to improve on Defense if we want to contend against stronger teams.

I would institute a press if I were McGrath. We have players who know it and have played it or practiced it. Not only does it create turnovers and easy offensive opportunities, but it eats shot clock. Let them teach him how they ran it. Press off made baskets, and force the other team to score with limited time.

Right now, we have a lot of new players and a new coach. A press would erase a lot of issues we have on defense.

Don't know where Grayhawk has been, but we knew this year was going to be a work in progress. Yes, what you are saying is true. But it should be no surprise. We lost a lot from last year and we have a lot of new faces. So to be so negative so soon doesn't set very well with most fans who have been here so many years, the thick and thin. McGrath doesn't have all of what he wants on this team yet. He does have a nice core to build on and we need to give him a chance to do just that. We were quickly spoiled with success we hadn't seen in ten years. But, even with the success, Keatts was not here long enough to address some weaknesses. He was a year away from dominating the CAA.
McGrath is taking this team in the right direction to get back on track. The last thing this team needs now is a bunch of couch coaches throwing out negatives on stuff we should expect to be happening in the beginning of this new era. Let's see just how this team responds to losses. How many times are you going to see a team have four players in double figures and two of them with double doubles lose by 27?

Its one game,on the road against a very good team that can flat out score. They beat UNCW by doing what the Seahawks want to do but are just better at it. Nobody wants to get blown out but I would say move on and get better.

I also stand behind my assessment after TWO games and several scrimmages that it indeed will be a long year.Feel free to debate with your opinion if youd like, however if name calling is all you have please count me out.

Slow your sensitivity.

It appears you may be the sensitive one...Quoting THREE of my posts and making accusations of me being a "circling wolf"

Saying it was a beatdown and saying it's gonna be a long year are 2 different things. Yes, it was a beatdown. No, I don't agree it's going to be a long year, because we have talent and our coaches need some time to make improvements.

If saying the "wolves are circling" is considered "name calling", I don't know what to tell you. That seemed like an accurate portrayal of what you were doing/saying.

That was CoastGuard who you just responded to, not me. I was the one who quoted your posts.

Maybe if 2 different posters are calling you out, and you're the new guy, you should take it under consideration that we're not the ones in the wrong here? We welcome new posters here, but when you show up to a new place, it's advisable to "wade in", not be combative. But that's just me.

Disagreeing is one thing...after all its a message board. However, regardless of post count, all opinions should be viewed on theire own merits. Saying that the wolves are circling simply because I stated MY opinion that it would be a long year is "combative" in my eyes. Just as if I would say that you guys are the "Sunshine squad" for having the views that you do. Hey, I HOPE I'm wrong about the long season....Time will tell

"The wolves are circling" refers to posters/fans who are ready to pounce on a coach and send them packing. In the past, we've had a few posters on this board that do exactly that. That's not name calling. That is a description of the post style.

Look, I'm a patient fella. You have the right to your opinion that it may or may not be a long season. I'm not and will not condone anyone saying you can't post that opinion. However, you should be mindful of the mindset it presents to some of us who have been around a while and been through numerous coaching changes (that's not a knock on you at all but just providing context). With those changes we've seen a lot of posters come and go with limited interaction until they're ready to "circle the wagons" on a coach or Athletic Director.

Hope that provides context to your concern of our "opinion".

mullet is right. Davidson has had a lot of time to instill their style of play while UNCW is just beginning. It is what it is. Hopefully, we can learn from it and improve.

RE: Davidson (Tuesday, 7 PM)
Just a thought but at some point the NCAA has to move the 3 pt line back closer to the NBA line-its such an easy shot now that the game has evolved into teams like Davidson shooting all 3's and no post play or medium range stuff. Average teams have at least 3 guys on the court looking to shoot the 3 at all times. Couple that with the fact that you can't touch a n offensive player without getting a whistle and it makes it tough to watch for me.
