NIU vs Toledo on ESPNU & Ball St. vs EMU on CBSSports on a Thurs nite...???
We're talking nationally televised football folks. Why the @$&# can't CUSA get some of our games in these time slots yet the MAC can? Are you telling me the tv markets (or football brand) for NIU, Toledo, Ball State, and EMU are more attractive than what CUSA offers???? We should be playing right along side these slots on NATIONAL TELEVISION...but we're not. What the?!#& are you doing Judy???? #firejudy

I dont think all of our schools are willing to do these mid week games. It may not just be Judy. Not that she should stay.

ESPN offered the MAC national exposure in these slots. The MAC didn't tell ESPN to go pound sand... CUSA did.. you reap what you sow.

I don't mind Thursday night football. I grew up watching football on Thursday and Saturday nights. Now Tuesday and Wed is iffy... But if we're getting more money I'm for it. We aren't getting shat now.

MAC is honestly not getting very much more money and they get the joy of lost ticket no donation revenue. I don't understand your obsession with wanting no games on Saturday for a month.

Question: what's the avg. # of Tues/wed night each MAC team has per season? I mean they aren't playing EVERY game of theirs on weekdays right?

Once a freaking week you or...you brings this up. Send the S. Miss AD a email with this question. You might actually get a answer.

Are you one of those fans that just stated paying any attention to CUSA? Judy didn't tell espn to screw theirself. S, Miss has been in this conference since it started and you act clueless to the fact CUSA has not played on espn in year and years

We didn't last year and it hurt us badly. This year, we play on Fridays which is also not good since that's the death slot. When MT was in the Belt, we got presence on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Judy, if she was a real leader would have told the presidents what we needed to do to survive and that was play whenever we could get on TV. Plain and simple. She didn't and here we are.

Guns, are you a proponent of being on espn on weeknights or no? Genuinely asking if you think the trade off in attendance would be worth the extra love and money from them?

So you asked the presidents and the ADs this question and they answered you? If not you don't know what she asked, told, said.

I have it from a very good person playing week days was not on the table for CUSA. First off espn has content for those nights and nothing CUSA could offer would have changed that. Not that espn would but when you have a contract....

it cost you to break it. There's not a damn team in CUSA that is worth espn trying to get out of their contract of showing MAC or SBC games on these days.

No I hate weekday games unless it's on a holiday like we had on the day after Thanksgiving. I don't mind a Thursday night game early in the season....on the road. But to me Saturday afternoon and evening is college football

Troy and Idaho are just going to halftime and it's 10pm sounds dead and there hasn't been a crowd shot (that I saw)

Ohhhhh. So you're saying espn was never on the table for CUSA,. It was at one point wasn't it? Before CUSA went with cbssn? If....if... we had the choice at that point, do you feel that we missed the boat? I understand you hate the weeknight games, but is that because of WKUs fanbase? When we were on espn vs Toledo or Miami on weeknights, we had great crowds... just trying to make sense out of this tv mess that we are in.

Was listening to a sports radio show and they were talking about this. The MAC doesn't have any football games on a Saturday in November. They are all weekdays.

I personally just don't like it. Western had some good crowds (for Western)on Thursday night games early in the season. There was 18k looked like that number was close to actual when Western played Tech on Thursday night two years ago. I just personally like home games on Saturday. I have honestly gave up caring about anyone else being there ..but myself.

When CUSA gave espn a big F-U and last minute went with Fox and CBSS...

espn has been off the table other than what they contracted for. No way were they going to bid on content for weekday games that they did not need...in this last contract. CUSA damaged that bridge but in business its never burnt. ESPN did not need or want CUSA weeknight games. If they needed the content and willing to pay for it CUSA would be playing on one of their channels.

Sorry. Let me be more clear.

EVERY SINGLE GAME PLAYED BY A MID-AMERICAN CONFERENCE TEAM FOR THE ENTIRE MONTH OF NOVEMBER IS ON A WEEKDAY. EVERY TEAM PARTICIPATES. IT IS MANDATORY.

I hope you can understand why I don't find this appealing.

There have been several threads on this which went into more depth.Statistics, facts, and some excellent arguments(on both sides). We just keep re-arguing the same thing.Meanwhile in the newer threads things are left out and...well you get my point--I hope.

RE: NIU vs Toledo on ESPNU & Ball St. vs EMU on CBSSports on a Thurs nite...???
The one person that could probably give a halfway factual answer. The AD of each of our schools and they usually have a email address or twitter. I say halfway factual because I never met a AD that actually told the truth...well the whole truth

We can argue about this till we are blue in the face and still everything (at least 99%) will be based on opinion. Or maybe it's a good way to get in a fire Judy.

Maybe we can get a fan from each school to send a email to their AD or asst AD asking this question and then post the answers.

Lets be honest here....why would fans want the rest of the world (or at least the 2451 fans that would watch) to see the awful product we are producing week after week? Some will say it helps recruiting but if that were the case...

the MAC and SBC would have recruiting classes ahead of CUSA

I just took a quick look at 2018 and 2017 and the top 4 in CUSA and top 4 in SBC

number of 3 star players and the average rating for each player in the class

2018
Western 15 81.28
UTSA 10 80.48
TECH 11 81.07
S.Miss 7 80.4

Where you been in a cave? Don't look at basketball on CBS Thursday nights when the OVC has games on and CUSA does not......

Stadium, BEin and Facebook are a joke. Traditional TV is still king and the only way to watch sports. When we told ESPN to pound sand and went with CSTV a few years ago, I knew this wouldn't end up well. Someone should be shot for that stupid move.

CUSA chose the fast nickel instead of the slow dime. Ugh!
