RE: Compare recruiting ranakings cmu vs WMU according to 24/7
I just find it hilarious that people don't put stock into recruiting when the parallels are clear as day.
Talent wins games as long as coaches simply do their jobs and put players into position to succeed.
Very simple.

Good points...except NOBODY is dissing the importance of talent.
You are making that up.
You, however, disregard the importance of leading and developing talent. Both are needed. From your posts, you think any azz-clown can lead a talented team to a championship. It does not work that way

I think we're all intelligent enough to realize not "any azz-clown" can lead a talented team to a championship. Isn't that a given? Now it just feels like you're arguing over insignificant semantics.

If you don't think recruiting matters that much and it's more about coaching and player development, then we should all be horrified to see what our program might look like if we DIDN'T have the last 5 top recruiting classes in the conference. Scary thought. But yeah.. azz-clowns and stuff...

where do you get 5?
Per 24/7 we had the highest recruiting class twice in the last 5 years. 2014 and 2016.

Our top recruiting classes if you look back were pretty hallow. I don't know how often it happened to other MAC schools but we lost multiple players between signing day and opening day each class. On top of normal yearly losses. We still had top end MAC classes, but Fleck was saved by a couple of top end stars.

That happens to every school in every conference. I do think Fleck lost more than normal, but attrition is rampant in college football.
