Guys that UAB put in the middle on FG block were 6-foot-7 Stacy Keely and 6-foot-8 Jamell Garcia-Williams. #goodcoaching

Crowd sounded great on the radio all day! Kinda glad I was 800 miles away for this one. I may have died. Haven’t had a freakout like that since we beat MT in 3OT in Bartow.

Ingram is Ingram...and whatever roadblocks he may or may not create...it was pretty cool to see him so pumped in that video...he did exactly what I would have been doing if I were on the sideline.

Maybe a few more Blazer moments like these and he will come around and get out of his own way.

I think Fumbles forgot his Watzi loyalty in the excitement of the moment! Good on him.

Gotta watch rushing the field before the play is even over lol. Would've been a bad way to end

Predictably, that represents a lot of the responses (to the original pic of this thread) I’ve seen on social media

RE: The Block
The La Tech coaches were blocking their play calls with that black sheet deal.
Every play they did it they would stand right in front of the side judge.
Couldn't believe that they were allowed to do that.

Not exactly the same deal, but just to point it out.

Need to ask my referee friend if it was ok for all those UAB players to be rushing the field when ball was still live

Drew Champlin‏ @DrewChamplin 37m37 minutes ago
UPDATE no rekick would've happened. Foul by nonplayer is “live-ball foul treated as a dead-ball" enforced on next play which there wasnt 1

Interesting. I assumed a penalty would’ve resulted in another play.
Good to know

If you look at that pic without knowing the seating patterns, it is a fair question.

Most fans know that this is the side no one sits on. Unfortunately the rest of the world doesn't, and the perception is UAB pulled a remarkable play in front of an empty stadium. We know that is untrue, but UAB needs to do something about that perception.

That really doesn’t sound right, but what do I know? Hypothetically, if a player had come off the sideline and blocked the kick, the kicking team should get another play. Maybe this would have been different since no one who came off the sideline actually had an effect on the play. Regardless, a penalty there would have been a travesty, so I’m glad it wasn’t called.

Maybe UAB could make sure there are always cameras filming from the other side for the highlights they post. I’m really pretty much over the attendance drama though. We’ve had great, loud crowds. The game day atmosphere inside and outside the stadium is better than its ever been. It’s time to just enjoy Blazer football.

The rule must have changed since this game:
