Our defense will get just that much better and have just that much more intensity added to it.

Young was a beast in the spring and fall camps. He was easily the most overpowering player on the defensive side of the ball. Doc in his press conference said you would see Young pretty early in the game.

If Young doesn't declare for the draft after this year our secondary will be insane next year:

S Branden Drayton
S Malik Gant
LB Omari Cobb
LB Eli Gates
LB Chase Hancock
LB Artis Johnson
LB Jaquan Yulee
LB Juwon Young
CB Jaylon McClain-Sapp
CB Jestin Morrow

Add in
LB Darius Hodge
LB Donyae Moody**
CB Chad Clay
CB Nirion Washington

Moody was a 2017 signee that hurt his knee in the last practice and is taking a medical redshirt. What was our weakest unit last year in the secondary will most likely be our strongest unit next year.

What an absolutely garbage preview that is. It's nothing more than "words on a webpage" with absolutely no analytical thought or highlighted players or matchups, written by someone who has never watched either team this year.

I hate to ever call it out like that because it will entice others to see what it is and increase the page view.

Forgotten 5 or whatever they want to call it is Click Bait and nothing more. At least Chuck Landon or Harry Minium makes you think sometimes, that as you said was "Hot Garbage".

So, I went back to see what the heck this site was, and under the About>Site Staff section, noticed that the author of that terrible preview is actually standing next to the Marshall plane crash obelisk. Upon further review, that was evidently written by their resident Marshall contributor. 04-jawdrop

Probably a justified reason I had never HERD of that site before today.

This is a big rivalry game for Marshall against one of its equal foes. Both teams have won a game against the other and the programs share many similarities. In many ways, it’s like two teams looking in the mirror.

This is a real grudge match. I’m looking forward to seeing this rivalry grow given it’s current .500 record. What a battle. Charlotte vs. Marshall.

Bravo, nice troll. I must admit. But don't worry, you'll get your chance to lose against us again soon, sorry you weren't good enough to gain admission to cusa.

03-phew A SlAppy fan. Do you get internet through your antenna or something or did you drive to Charlotte to post in an internet café. No No you have one of those new fangled satellite dishes that takes up half your yard. I hear you will be able to get dial-up at 14.4 speed in Boone around 2020, so they are making progress in the Boonies of NC.

Our history in IA is something Appy fans only wish they had. Enjoy your Slum Belt where only 1 team (Troy) has a winning record. Yes You read that right only 1 team in the Slum Belt has a winning record:

Troy 4-1
LA Monroe 2-2
Arkansas State 2-2
Idaho 2-2
SlAppy 2-2
New Mexico State 2-3
GA State 1-2
LA Lafayette 1-3
Coastal Carolina 1-3
South Alabama 1-4
Texas State 1-4
GA Southern 0-4

Tell the Charlotte QB he should go ahead and get his tramp stamp tonight. He'll be spending all day on his back tomorrow.

I'd say something insulting back to you about your program, but I can't name one fact FBS fact about your program and really don't care enough to google anything about it.

Dial up? That would mean we've got telephones. Ain't seen that kind of technology up here yet. The Sunbelt is extra terrible this year. 05-stirthepot

What's with all the salt?! I'll probably watch this game. The overall series is tied and it was a close game last year. Plus both teams share in the history of Phil Ratliff.

Well...clearly you haven't heard of the ultra prestigious CAMELLIA BOWL in the capital of college football, Montgomery Alabama.

I can name one and that's it. Appy is 2-2 and their biggest win is against Texas State, their other win is against Savannah State. Playing Savannah State as a IA shouldn't even count as a win, Savannah State is that bad.

The rest I had to look up. Savannah State's last winning season was in 1998 at 7-4. Since then Savannah State has a record of 27-142-2.

Actually its just more than Phil. I knew Phil personally and he didn't want to even leave the Marshall coaching staff under Doc, but Phil also wanted to be the next HC at Marshall when Doc retired and Doc told him to be able to do that he would have to have more experience outside of Marshall, see Bud Foster at VA Tech.

There is also:
HC Brad Lambert was part of Jim Donnon's staff
OC/OL Greg Adkins played for and coached at Marshall
Strength and Conditioning Jim Durning played at Marshall was a starter in the 1992 National Championship game
