Nice write up Dirty!
I mostly agree with you're
1. James Madison
2. New Hampshire
3. Villanova
4. Maine
5. Richmond
6. Stony Brook
7. Albany
8. Elon
9. Rhode Island
10. W&M
11. Delaware
12. Towson

I would have the same top 4, but move the 2 NY teams ahead of RU and move UD up 3 spots. Same everywhere else. UD's offense may be subpar, but that was a somewhat impressive defensive effort by UD against the Chokies, and I think UD is better than the bottom 4 teams.
1. James Madison (2-0)
2. New Hampshire (2-0/1-0)
3. Villanova (1-1)
4. Maine (1-1/0-1)
5. Stony Brook (1-1/1-0)
6. Albany (1-1)
7. Richmond (1-1)
8. UD (1-1)
9. Elon (1-1)
10. Rhode Island (0-2/0-1)
11. W&M (1-1)
12. Towson (1-1)

Can't really argue with you - especially on Delaware's D. But their offense has looked ATROCIOUS. 22 points against DSU? Come on. And i probably should have the Spatters where you do in the poll, but for some reason I think they'll pull it around. I actually picked Howard to win this weekend because I don't think Richmond's D will be able to stop them.

Yeah, the UD offense has been atrocious, but they did put up 432 yards of offense on DSU. Only managed 20 points (2 TDs, 2 FG). Also missed 2 FG. (Other 2 points being scored by the defense on a safety). Heck, Bill and Gary also put up only 20 points and even less yards- 375, vs another crap MEAC team in NSU. My guess is W&M & UD might be comparable offenses, but UD the better defense- think UD will vie with SBU and VU for who has the 2nd best defense in the CAA behind JMU.

I'd rather play Elon or URI on the road than UD. So that's why I'd have UD ahead of W&M, URI, and Elon. We'lll see how it plays out.

Nice work Dirty on the game recaps.

With the Power Rankings IMHOP Maine a little too high, UD too low (I'd moved them ahead of Bill and Gary and Rhody (UD's Ivy win was more impressive IMHOP).

1. JMU
#2-#9 SBU/Albany/VU/RU/Maine/UNH/UD/Elon draw names out of a hat now. (Think any could potentially be a playoff team except Elon. Elon is the only one of those 8 I just don't buy as having a shot at the playoffs, despite the obvious improvement).
Bottom 3 Rhody (although has improved), Bill and Gary, TU. They all finish with losing records.

Yep, I agree. I was behind the deadline though and didn't really give it my all. Having to write 11 game recaps is brutal. Glad we're in conference now and it's only like 4-5

Thanks man! We actually weren't going to publish it - it was just a warmup for when I come on later in the season, but they thought it went well enough to publish. I had all these stats prepared and then blanked on them when I answered, so next time I might script more of it.

Maine has a bye week this week, Dirty. Their game at UCF was cancelled from reschedulings caused by Hurricane Irma.

Yep, tough week. Can't argue too much with that except Maine at #9 is maybe too low, esp since they get their stud All CAA WR back who was suspended their 1st 2 games and just started practice last Wed.

Week 4 #2- through #9 was a complete crapshoot.
Week 5 #2 through #9 still a complete crapshoot.

CAA Weekly Recap
the only elite units i’ve seen are JMU’s D, JMU’s O, and UR’s O. the latter is only because of Lauletta. dude can ball. without him, they’d have 0 wins because the rest of the team is a mess. not that he’s been perfect, but he’s still completely carrying them.
