Game Atmosphere
What happened to the All Aboard before the team took the field ? Of course in section 105 you can not hear a thing from the announcer. The speakers I don't think are working and sound system is horrible. I spend 1000s of $ and get no desernable audio! Why can't this be fixed it is not that expensive to ensure donors can at least hear the announcer. Overall the game atmosphere is still improving. We still need a tradition to start the 4th quarter.

It does but spending any money on Foreman other than what it absolutely necessary at this point would be horribly irresponsible by the athletic department. Fixing the sound system with 10 games left in the life of the place would be an awful investment.

Tradition?

I have already said this before and have sent multiple recommendations to the band director/ODU site and email. We need songs like(linked below) this where we can make it uniquely ours in US just like the ice cream and cake. Have two sides join in in 'tararentate' and etc and display on the board for people to clap and sing with lyrics. Forget about the word "drunk" in the lyrics, other than that everything is fine. This would make a good audience music even for old guys to join because they know the song. Our tradition is just starting and we need uniqueness for this tradition to stay there for a long time.

Listen to the full video especially when they change it and gets ready for the action.

Even college like penn state that is known to copy European soccer traditions can;t do this properly

We need music editor with the right mind to edit make this song powerfull for ODU fans with proper outro

It was about $500 to fix it last time from what I was told. Doesn't seem like that is too much to ask for to keep many fairly large donors happy. Does it ? That is not horribly irresponsible. It is horribly irresponsible to not fix it.

If their going to fix the speaker's, probably should gease or replace the pulley bearings on the kicking net poles. It took 6 guys to erect the net halfway near the game day building.

At this point Foreman is an old beater car being held together until it can finally be replaced. You don’t replace a blown speaker in a beater you a going to replace shortly.

Yes, he does because the game atmosphere absolutely sucks at Foreman Field. When your defense is on the field and has your opponent pinned at 3rd long, fans should not be sitting quietly in their seats waiting to see what happens. They should be standing up making enough noise that it makes communication difficult for the opponent. My only hope at this point is that next week when ODU travels to Blacksburg, ODU admin and fans finally experience a game atmosphere that is crazy enough to disrupt the visiting team. If at any point in a game at VT, the PA starts the intro to Enter Sandman, the whole stadium explodes with emotion. It's a rallying point that the team feeds off of. If Wilder and company were smart, they'd make the team practice under such conditions this week.

I sat in section 102 yesterday. It was so disappointing to see the fans so unresponsive, even when the football team itself was signaling from the sideline to get loud by moving their arms up and down and waving their towels. (In case y'all didn't know that's what they meant.) I can't imagine any decent recruit would sign on for that lack of support.

Isn't there someone on this board who works for the athletic department?

Apparently they put a $500 band aid on it and now the band aid has come off. It will probably take much more than $500 to fix it.

It's tough to hear or understand the announcer, at least in 102. I just keep telling myself it will be better in 2019.

That is more a blessing than a curse. I hope that with the new stadium we also get an updated announcer. I'm not taking shots at the man, but I believe it is time for some new blood at that position.

I could hear him most of the game in 118. Consider yourself fortunate if you could not hear him. So many down & distance mistakes. Let the guy read promotional spots but its time to pass the mic to someone else. Jack has done us well over the years and deserves a proper send off...but it's time.

I may catch flak for this, but I think Jack Anderson should probably retire with old stadium. We'll need a shot of new blood to help with game atmosphere. Just my opinion.

I have to agree. Mistakes on punt distances and he announced the wrong score after one of the touchdowns. He needs someone to feed him the numbers if he's not going to keep up. I could hear him fine in 103 but I have been in many parts of the stadium where it is unintelligible.
