RE: FIRE CAREY!!!
I swear we could go undefeated or play in the Orange Bowl and some fans would still be b1tching. Oh wait.
It's insane how spoiled NIU fans are. How many B1G wins were there in the first 100 years of NIU football? A bad Wisconsin team in 1987? That's it? Now B1G wins are so frequent they get criticized for not being perfect enough. Try being EMU or Buffalo.
I dunno how this season will play out but I don't see how a Boston College loss is any worse than the loss to Kansas (followed up by an absolute pounding by Wisky) in a 2011 MAC title year. And if Carey wants to play it conservative with his backup quarterback whose deep ball I doubt he has a lot of faith in, I don't think that's the worst thing. Santa didn't make the greatest throws out there today but he made them when it mattered. When you air it out or throw over the middle you increase the risk of interceptions. See: Nebraska.
I do think Carey was too conservative at times vs BC but it was the right call today to sit on the lead after Neb spotted the Huskies 14. If it weren't for that botched punt return it would've been much smoother sailing. Talk about a momentum killer.

If you want to get some good laughs go to the Fire Riley board for a Nebraska. Makes me feel better about our fan base. Go Huskies!

Never thought I'd see the day the Huskies beat the Cornhuskers in Nebraska.
Historic win!

RE: FIRE CAREY!!!
The only thing I ever care about with a coach is if the kids are responding to him. The way the guys celebrated with OUR coach after the game tells me all I need to know.
Game management, recruiting, Personnel decisions. Every coach can get scalped for some of that but st this level as long as kids are playing hard and competitive...dude is doing a good job.
Like Brian kelly, my biggest gripe with him is the way he berated kids and gives sophomoric interviews. You can get away with that crap if you are winning, but it's a terrible look when the tides turn. Seems to have toned some of that down.
We'll see how he handles this QB decision. That's the kind of thing that can rally or separate the troops.

With the bye week, Carey has plenty of time for his favorite QB to get healthy so he can be the starter again vs. SDSU.

I sure hope Santa has earned his spot as starter. He is completing 68% of his passes in 2 games, and that throw to Blake was on the money big time! No interceptions and clean enough to let the defense win the game.....well done for SOPHOMORE Dan!! Oh yeah...Isn't he now 4-0 as a starter too?
Is it sad that I keep double guessing whether or not your statement above is true or not

Seems like some people care more about "So Carey should have been fired, right?!? HAHA" "Gotcha!" moments more so than celebrating together as a fanbase. Some kind of pathetic fanbase we have.

+1. This was my biggest reason that this season will be better than last. It's all Carey players on the team. Nothing left from the other regimes. So everyone here wants to play for Carey. Carey does make mistakes. So do NFL coaches. But having a United team who believe in themselves, the coach and the program is a huge part of success.

RE: FIRE CAREY!!!
If he goes back to Graham it will be difficult to continue following the program this season. I will but it will be difficult.
Hopefully he does the obvious and right thing at this point. I think he will because he is a competitive guy and the Ws and Ls go on his record as a HC.

This will be the Carey dipsh*t test. If he goes back to Graham because "players don't lose starting spots to injury", then he's progressed very little as far as personnel decision making.

Even Carey can't possibly go back to Graham. He would lose the team. The team has to be firmly on the side of Santa.
