Florida would be terrifying if they had even a mediocre offense.

Kansas has a multi-million dollar annual advantage JUST from conference affiliation. It is *always* laughable if you have such a huge advantage and squander it.

It is STILL Kansas and Rutgers, and we are not talking Basketball(Women's BB for Rutgers)05-nono05-nono

Purdue has quitely gotten much better, while Mizzou's program has collapsed.

This I agree with04-cheers

I expect Florida to be a bit rusty post-Irma.

G5 over P5 unless that G5 is ranked
Very unranked over ranked

It hit two of the criteria. You should go read the week 1 thread where I list the criteria.

I have read the criteria, based on results the last 3 seasons Memphis beating UCLA is not that laughable. But if that is the criteria so be it. Go Tigers, AAC #P6!!

UT vs Fla is pretty laughable not by score but by play.

How many ****ing rabbits feet does Butch Jones has jammed up his *** to get THIS MANY critical fumbles of imminent touchdowns which then quickly become touchdowns the other way? Not that I'm bitter. But maybe I am.

Is Iowa that bad? Usually other teams beat North Texas by more margin of the points. Right now Iowa is up by 10.

Incompetent coaching. A lot of top CFB programs are run by gym teachers. Peter Principle in full effect.

Of course as soon as i say that, the offenses get in gear and it becomes an exciting game, ending on a 65 yard Hail Mary for the ages, LOL. Doh!

Seriously? Look, nobody wins all the time. Notre Dame hasn't won anything in 25 years. Even Alabama went 15 years between the early 90s and Saban without winning anything. I'm no Volunteers fans, but Tennessee ...

... has been playing football for 122 seasons.

... average attendance approaches 100,000, usually in the top 10 or top 5.

... has won 3 consensus national titles, and 3 more shared ones.

.... has won 16 Southern/SEC titles.

... has won over 800 games, 9th most all time.

... has been to 52 bowl games, 3rd most all time. Just think about that - more than a half a century of bowl games!

... has won 28 bowl games, 6th most all time.

... Vols alumni have played more than 18,000 games in the NFL, 7th all time.

No, they aren't Alabama or Notre Dame, but by any reasonable standard, they are an all-time football power, around 10th-12th all time.

I WOULD SAY THAT TENNESSEE WAS A FOOTBALL POWER, BUT HAVE DECLINED A LOT.

BUT IT DOES INDICATE POWER STATUS, THE ISSUE HERE.

... has won 3 consensus national titles, and 3 more shared ones. RELEVANT, BUT HOW LONG AGO? KEEP IN MIND, PITT HAS LIKE 11 NATIONAL TITLES, BUT...

.... has won 16 Southern/SEC titles. RELEVANT, BUT HOW LONG AGO?

WITHIN THE MEMORY OF LIVING PEOPLE, UNLIKE PITT OR PRINCETON.

... has won over 800 games, 9th most all time. INSUFFICIENT DATA - HOW MANY OF THOSE WERE FCS TEAMS?

NO REASON TO THINK ANY DIFFERENT FROM ANY OF THE OTHERS IN THE TOP 10.

... has been to 52 bowl games, 3rd most all time. Just think about that - more than a half a century of bowl games! MARGINALLY RELEVANT. BEFORE THE CURRENT SYSTEM, INVITATION TO BOWLS HAD MORE TO DO WITH ATTENDANCE THAN THE QUALITY OF THE TEAM.

MASSIVELY RELEVANT. BEFORE CURRENT SYSTEM ONLY THE CREAM WENT TO BOWL GAMES, SAVE FOR THE B1G WHICH ALLOWED ONLY ONE TEAM TO GO EACH YEAR UNTIL 1960s. AND AGAIN, ATTENDANCE IS HUGE INDICATOR OF POWER STATUS.

... has won 28 bowl games, 6th most all time. WHICH IS 53.8%

RIGHT, AND BETTER THAN MANY TEAMS. 28 WINS IS 28 WINS.

... Vols alumni have played more than 18,000 games in the NFL, 9th all time. SOMEWHAT RELEVANT.

EXTREMELY RELEVANT, INDICATES CALIBER OF PLAYERS ATTRACTED TO PROGRAM - TOP PLAYERS FAVOR TOP PROGRAMS, TOP PROGRAMS PRODUCE TOP PLAYERS.

THEY HAVE HAD A ROUGH TIME OF IT IN RECENT YEARS, BUT THAT'S TRUE OF MANY TOP SCHOOLS. THEY ARE PROBABLY AROUND #10-#12 PROGRAM ALL TIME. THAT'S POWER.

Butch is just above mediocre enough to keep his job. He is fast becoming my favorite Tennessee coach of all time, lol. Love watching them squander infinite resources.

Rumors of Butch Jones on the hotseat been around for a couple of years now. With a couple of their players with accusations and accusations of sexual harassment by the football team for number of years? I do think it is hitting them in a big way. Not like Baylor, but may suffer from getting recruits until they start cleaning up their image.

The Vols are walking thru the same wilderness that Bama did from the time they fired Stallings until they poached Saban

Charlotte started their football program about 20 years too late. Do it in 1995 and they'd possibly be in the ACC or Big 12.
