I used to follow several boards of other teams-this is hands down the most optimistic board I've seen. Read the Chief's board-entire threads about how badly Alex Smith sucked and plenty of posts knocking Hunt. This after they beat the reigning World Champs on the road.

Agreed we have things to work on but we're 2-0 with a road win over a team traditionally very good at home. Additionally, these issues seem to be correctable and we seem to be healthy. I have read an awful lot about injuries this week. Just keep winning 04-cheers

Because everyone thinks we should be Alabama and blowing teams out by 60 every week. If we don't, then they just *****.

Okay all is well, but the penalties...? I think that's a fair area to complain about because it was bad. I don't see Boise State making those types of penalties while they're up 31-17 at #20 Washington State.

Zero sacks on the night, just one on the season against an FCS team. Wouldn't you guys like to see tougher pressure applied?

I thought we had decent pressure especially in 2nd half. Adenyi is supposed to be our power rusher from the end but he's not consistent. We haven't exactly had a strong pass rusher in quite some time except perhaps TJ and Dejuan Goulde. Hester was more of a run stopper. I could be missing someone else...

Seemed like the Rockets really didn't dial up the pressure until the 2nd half.

I don't know if they were ruled sacks in the statistics, but twice we hit the QB before or while he was passing resulting in a fumble recovery on one and an interception on the other. I'll take those over a sack any day. Defense was good except for 2 blown coverages where the pass was completed for scores. Had some other bad coverage downs - but those will happen. Just need to minimize them.

It's Sunday morning - and I heard a flag was just thrown for pass interference against Toledo. It becomes the second longest period of time to elapse from the end of the play until a flag showed up. Just barely longer than the one against Hollman...ridiculous call.

After reading some of your comments about this team and our coaches on pages 15 - 20, I thought I was on a buckeye board. I read: Who's calling these plays. Our Oline is awful. Fire the OC. Defense stinks again this year. Fire the DC because of too many penalties. That's an awful call on 3rd down. Why aren't we throwing more short passes. Looks like just another 9 win season. After tonight performance, don't have to worry about a MACC.....and on, and on, and on. My gosh, we went on the road with a 3 hour time difference, high altitude and came away with a big "W". Come on gang, jump on the band wagon and get excited, because right now....... We are the only undefeated Division I team in the state of Ohio!!!! 02-13-banana

I just figured I'd get a seasons worth of bitching out since I may be without internet, power, etc for the foreseeable future given Irma's current path (Right over my house) LOL. A win is a win...I'll take it. Like I said earlier...I'll gladly eat my words to see this team put it all together and make a great run this year. Go Rockets!

I saw he as credited for 1 tackle.... How is it posssible a starting LB could only be credited for 1 tackle?

But, IIRC, it was a big one that sort of stopped a drive.

RE: Nevada Game Thread
Some random thoughts.

Good things:
- After a poor Q1, Woodside was 17-20 in Q2-4
- Swanson got 100 yards
- Thompson had his normal outstanding game with 101 yards receiving, holding on kicks, playing special teams, etc.
- Defense got pressure on the Nevada QB. Only the 1 sack, but that caused a TO; also had the hit that caused the INT and several times caused the QB to throw before he wanted
- Seymour again showed some flashes of being a big bruising back
- Vest is on pace to set every field goal/scoring record there is with 7 FGs in 2 games (ok this is both a good an bad thing)

Not so good things:
- 3.2 yards per rush.
- I can't remember Woodside being hit/hurried so many times before. Was hurried a number of times which highly limited the number of times they could put the ball down field.
- Defense still has the propensity to give up big plays are crucial times
- 14 penalties for 110 yards, plus at least 1 that was declined. There were about 4 off-sides penalties which have no reason to be committed. OK, the one PI penalty was a horrible call, but this undisciplined play needs to be remedied.
- Play calling seemed highly predictable. Out of 38 1st down plays, ran the ball 29 times. I know people want to see us run more, but you need to throw on 1st down more than 20% of the time to keep the D honest.

Always good to come away with a win on a road trip, especially a long west coast one at altitude, but the Rockets were lucky to get the win IMO. Take away the fumbled/blocked punt, the silly on-sides kick, the targeting penalty and the questionable reversed INT call, and the score could have easily been reversed. Rockets are gonna have to play a lot better against Tulsa I think.

All true but UT could also just as easily won by 38 or so with some smarter play. So I'll settle for the W.
