Remind me again how many National Championships in any NCAA sport does ECU have? Any. currently ranked teams in any sport? Any NFL Hall of Fame Members?

ECU has one national championship. JMU literally has one NFL hall of famer, less than San Mateo junior college

OK. Enough is enough. You JMU guys were cute and all when you first started posting before the game. Now you are like the vermin in the basement that no one can get rid of. You won. Congrats. Now go back to whatever conference board you belong to. Good lord.

We have a national championship in baseball. Now go away.

Let'em bask in the glory of beating a FBS team. Not something they can claim every year.

Real talk:

I find WVU to be very likable. Yeah, they have some... ...interesting... ...fans - but WVU is a program that is always looked down on in the inner P5 circles. They represent a hardscrabble part of the country that a lot of people trash behind their back. I'm not surprised that they have a "go us, and screw everyone else" attitude. In a way, it's warranted.

If you are referencing the NAIA Championship in 1961 ,... well that's a falsehood. You see by definition, NAIA is equivalent to NCAA Div 2.

ECU has never been to the CWS.

Your school has not achieved any NCAA Div 1 National Championship in any sport.

Now JMU has been to the CWS in Rosenblatt Stadium in Omaha. Actually, JMU was the first baseball team ever from the Commonwealth of Virginia.

Like JMU division 2 football championships? 'And don't say Field Hockey and Archery those aren't sports'

And obviously my point was nobody gives a crap about NFL hall of famers

Me too. I've always pulled for them when they weren't playing ECU despite some of their fans.

That mentality can be fine to a certain extent, but they bring a Alabama mentality when it comes to respect of other universities. Both Holgerson and Huggins have spoken out about their negative feelings about Marshall and how they are "so" far ahead and all of us as G5, deserve far less than we already have.

That being said, I'm a Pirate fan this week and hope you guys take they to the woodshed. That would make my week. 04-cheers

You said national championship, not CWS. We all know that we haven't won the CWS. Never implied we did.

RE: ECU at West Virginia game thread (9/9 at noon ET, FS2)
Anyone know anything about the current coaching staff starting a 'rumor' that our DB coach from last year, Rick Smith (he was also our DC under Ruff and was on Skip's staff as well), allegedly leakeing intel about our defense to JMU? I know we had some former ECU coaches on the JMU staff but this would be ridiculous. I know he was critical of ECU's 'soft' practices under coach Mo after the loss on Saturday so maybe the rumor was just retaliation (which would also be ridiculous if true). Even though Rick Smith 'retired' this past offseason there was speculation that he was forced out so maybe he has some animosity there as well. The whole thing seems a little high schoolish and I'm not really buying it but in a way I almost want there to be a legit excuse for our poor performance.

We just looked so bad against JMU that the only conspiracy story I could really buy is if our players were point shaving.

I find it more likely that Jeff Compher would share secrets with his alma mater JMU, and even that's ridiculous.
