That was idiotic I admit, I was in another world with the Orange bowl prospects at the time. I think this "conspiracy" is a little more grounded. Don't you kind of wonder if what I outlined might be going on in this case?

But MD, you know the NIU fan base isn't this Chicago bears. This QB controversy wouldn't be discussed over every water cooler in the Midwest. What would be the major backlash aside from this board if he started a QB controversy?

I've seen this episode. Doesn't coach now try to make graham a cornerback while santa starts and the running QB comes in for a series every half

Yes, there has been some inconsistency, but there's one thing that's consistent and (almost) unanimous:
FIRE CAREY!!

Wow, I wonder how many QBs we're going to go through this year. Is he really going to be better as quickly as 2-4 weeks?

I get a feeling this was the plan all along, have Graham start opener have Santa start the next, and compare. Id be willing to bet anything this is more about extended fall camp into the season than it is about injury. This gives Santa a warm up game, and a real game vs Nebraska, and then an off week to decide who to go with the rest of the year (i.e. 2-4 week "injury"). I just think you need to decide your QB before the season starts, oh well.

Graham threw for 200 with two TDs and a pick with a bad percentage...did not lose the game for us.
Far from numbers they would be willing to replace a first week performance against an extremely good defense.
Again, reference Hares numbers against BC or Lynch's vs Florida state.
He was not benched.

RE: Graham out 2-4 weeks with a sprained elbow
At least the HUskies do have an off week during that 4 weeks (weekend of 9/23), hopfully he can return for the 9/30 SD ST game. The Nebraska game could be very interesting, as they had a bad opener and barely won over Arkansas state. Arkansas State got 32 First Downs, 415 passing yards and 82 rushing yards to outyard Nebraska by 497-463.
If Huskie D plays as well in Lincoln as they did at home last week, NIU will make it very competitive.

He will be back.
No matter what Santa does, Carey always said you can't lose your spot to injury.
It will make for an interesting 2-4 weeks for Santa.

I mean I'm all for seeing Santa actually, but hate to see any player loss due to injury in college. I think we were going to end up seeing Santa sooner than later anyways due to the QB play.

What Graham does is allow a defense to be very aggressive. His limitations let the defense dictate how you play offense. Part of that is on Carey. Carey isn't really conservative. He will get creative with plays like the QB throw back or the TE going opposite the entire O for the wimann TD. But clever isnt necessarily aggressive. I thought the offense worked the best in the 3rd quarter when they spread things out and ran more WRs in patterns. Lynch, like Graham, couldn't hit any of his WRs vs Florida state and the seminoles never backed off smothering the run....plus they were damn good.

He should, though. I've said this for the past few years. He was the best of the bunch in recent years. Yes, he had Lynch and that helps, but I thought he did a good job calling plays.
He would probably do a worse job in all other facets if he took on that role, but I think he would be a strong play caller. One year of coach U hasn't been great but healso had a bad QB situation.

No he does not. What he calls is the strategy on how he wants the offense to play. if they want to pound the ball all day or throw it 50 times, Carey has final say. He doesn't select the plays, but the offenses game plan is on him.

This. The O.C. works for Carey. While Carey doesn't call the plays, he owns it all. All of it.
