Yep. Very few changes and Litton didn't look like a Junior/3 year starter.

I hope your defense is a world beater, because, if not, we won't win another game.

But you've got to admit, the line blocked a lot better than I think any of us thought they could. The running game showed some life and it looks like we have at least a few receiving threats.
As it's always been, it's all about the maturation of Chase Litton. There's definitely something there. It's not a complete product like the final Cato years by no means, but there's definitely life on this team.

I was amazed at the time Litton had in the pocket. Unfortunately, I was also amazed at how little he did with all that time.

Offense:
Oh boy... We have very good receivers. Thats about it... Our top RB did pretty good and the overall offense can drive on occasion, but we are very inconsistent. Litton at QB looked like the weak link tonight.
Defense:
Calling it now, top 3 in conference if not the top D in the league this season. We looked very good, especially in out linebackers.
Special Team:
What can I say? Special... Also 14 points on 2 kick-off returns for TDs.
And take all that into consideration, if Litton can actually mature throughout the year and that light goes on, we may be able to make some serious noise here. In reality, we're more than likely a 6 and 6 type team right now.
Litton is the key.

We didn't play as well as the 10 points given up would indicate imo, the 98 yard drive was pretty bad and bent a little more than I would've liked. Wasn't their fault we crapped the best on the kick returns and called that awful cross-field pass play that went back for 6 though.
FWIW there was a pretty bad block in the back on one of the touchdown kick returns, but the officiating made some mistakes on both sides. We got four timeouts the first half and I think the targeting was a little iffy, the refs missed that kickoff penalty and a defensive holding or two on you guys.

Can't put it all on Litton when the play calls are hand to RB on 1st and 2nd down when Marshall is leading it's always going to be close. Most good teams will beat Marshall when play calling is predictable. Either Doc or Legg have to keep playbook wide open for entire game unless Marshall is up 4 scores going into 4th quarter.

Sorry, Litton didn't look comfortable and was way off most long throws. We have no intermediate passing game. There were very few changes to the offense and what did change isn't dramatic enough to throw other teams off.
Starting to think Litton isnt capable of learning a complete playbook.

I agree 100%! I noticed many of the same things you're calling out. I think momentum allowed Marshall to win but the refs gave both teams opportunities to put the game away. It never happened that's why the game came down to final play.

Good job Marshall. I followed the score on my sports app during our game. Conference really needed this FBS win. Kudos to the Herd.

Fake field goal.. obvious and a shieeite call
Fade pass while driving.... low percentage pass and unnecessary..
Bill Legg needs sheitcanned...and if Doc can't see it... maybe he should go with him... abysmal offense
Defense.. chuck heater continues to be a stud.
God bless you Keion Davis and the special teams

Kept up with the score during Western's games and glad to see Marshall got some things from last year fixed. So glad we wont have to feel bad for Marshall and go back to hating on you after a few more wins
Doc (Marshall) might not be the most vanilla coach (offense) in the conference. Western's new 34 year old coach runs a offense that makes Doc look like Brohm.
Good win...I picked it on my pick-em

I was observing the viewership for this FB game. 8k were online at the same time during the course of the game and also have over 741,000 views. Seems pretty successful and did better than the SDSU vs UC-Davis game.
