I hear it was raining, but that is pretty ugly against a historically bad sunbelt team. UCF destroyed our bad c-usa team. SMU destroyed their FCS team. Tulsa played a legit big 12 team, so who knows about them. Navy looks good like always. I'm hoping Houston still is decent. No idea about them yet.
Nothing personal against Memphis. We shall see next week. Way early for the rankings. I'd like to see another week.

We play UCF at their place next week, so each team will have a chance to prove what they can do. We were only so-so Thursday night.

What has Tulane done to be grouped at #11 at this point?

Off topic but 7 mins left in the game and BYU has not crossed the 50 yard line vs LSU

RE: RANK THE AAC: Week 1 (or 2 if you're USF)
I'm the biggest SMU football pessimist alive and I've seen almost every SMU game over the past twenty years. This is easily the most talented, deepest team SMU has had in that time. It's really not even close. I'm not gonna predict anything crazy but there isn't anyone on our schedule we aren't capable of beating, including TCU in two weeks. That should be an absolute must see game. The rivalry is suddenly meaningful again in both sports and that is a beautiful thing, because frogs suck, FW sucks, purple sucks, and TCU is the best private school in the country if you're not that smart.

I thought you guys would be insulted if I ranked them 12 after ECU's disaster today.

Watching them try to move the ball was like watching Jeff Lebo choke on a corn dog

The yardage given up is concerning, to say the least.
The first down discrepancy means nothing. Instead of long drives with multiple first downs, Memphis had TD runs of 65 yds, 55 yds and 63 yds.
Not to mention a 99 yd kickoff return TD.

You do know we had a lot of big plays right. That has a lot to do with our lack of first downs. Think we we were up 30 with 8 minutes in the 3rd. ULM had this marathon 8 minute drive series for a score. Then we rotated a bunch a new faces and gave too much cushion for ULM in the 4th for 15 unanswered points. We most likely have 50+ in that game if we played in the same conditions UCF played that night.
Defense needs tweaking and less freak injuries happening on the defense.
I wouldn't get a big head because of a one game performance. You should know how sports works by now
