I hear they will add a vignette effect for the southern game so that y'all aren't too thrown off. 04-cheers

Mighty appreciated.

The east and west stands are still further back from the field because of the track. The new north seating was built closer to the field. Another issue you can run into is building codes. The new portion of Bobcat Stadium doesn't actually touch the old part. There is a very small gap. If they touched, the old part would have to be brought up to code. I could see redoing their stadium in a similar way to TXST. I wish the stadium didn't look patchwork at times but it is a nice stadium and I think it is the best way to do it without building a new one from scratch or tearing down and rebuilding each side at a high cost.
Same issue at Bobby Dodd Stadium. The I believe four sections of stands are independent of each other.

Isn't part of Bobby Dodds seating built over original stands? In other words, the old stands are still in place behind/underneath the existing stands?

Yes

The Woofer Cabinet holes I saw installed today were at least 7 feet wide.

I do have to ask, why static ads on the bottom and not a ribbon?

Can't tell if that's a legit question or a weak dig...

Maybe those 4 sponsors paid enough to warrant it. Maybe the powers that be wanted to save electricity.

No it was a legit question.

I've seen it handled multiple ways. The ribbon gives you the opportunity to display MORE ads for increased revenue. For companies that paid more into it, I've seen bigger boards use the edge(s) of the main board to display "static" ads that are displayed for an entire quarter or so before shifting.

I think going all video gives you a lot more flexibility in terms of the quantity of ads you can show. Plus it would occupy less time on the main part of the board where you could be showing stuff the fans may enjoy more.

Unfortunately, due to the configuration of our board, we can't attach a ribbon to show ads. Although, I've seen several instances of ribbons down at field level in recent years. These are more likely to be displayed on TV and could offer another type of opportunity in terms of ads.

I was just mainly curious.

I was wondering the same. Why not have a ribbon? My guess is there is an ongoing contract with these companies to have a "static" ad, or they stepped up and payed more for this option on the new board.

Doug is a business guy I'd bet the static ads are worth it.

But hey if a client comes along with an ovular shaped logo yall are uniquely set to deliver.

But yeah, my guess is those companies are big time all-sports donors who gave enough it warrants a static ad. Or they didn't want to shrink the video display by occupying the bottom 5 feet with ads.
