Double, triple, or even quadruple yours and everyone elses donation, then maybe things might move at a pace that would be acceptable to you.

Think $10 would do it? I doubt that money is the sole issue in speed of movement. Coastal had a vision, developed a plan, and achieved their goal through measured steps to achieve said goal; that was the intent of my comment.

Not to garner a snarky remark about funding levels. Isn't exactly a blue collar comment, considering the area and the mindset App says it is, i'm disappointed.
Seems you may be better off with the wine and cheese crowd up in Chapel Hill.

Despite your weak Tar Heel comment, coming from you I'm a bit disappointed you couldn't do any better, I think money has a lot to do with it, despite what you say.

Back to the Tar Heel comment, you're barking up the wrong tree with me.

Gillin told me he doesn't see the need to building more seats until we begin selling more season tickets. I don'r necessarily agree with this since imo we need seats to for some of the teams we're bringing in. There will be a much bigger demand for tickets for the ECU game than Miami or WF.

Building a bigger stadium for one game every three years would be a mistake. It makes access to tickets for the other 15 games over three years too easy to drive demand. I'd like to see us build another 3,500 permanent seats in the north end-zone, 750 of them being club seating then regrade the hill to accommodate 35k in total.

Just for ascetics I would like to see us fill out the stands on the Press Box side of the stadium. Probably wouldn't add more than 1500 seats but it would look much better.

Isn't the plan to have the pressbox side eventually match the other side but with a new pressbox under the mid deck instead of club seats? I thought I read that somewhere.

We're in our 3rd year of FBS. Those "big" games will become more frequent. The #1 reason we don't sell more season tickets is Boone's uncertain weather conditions. With ESPN3 a lot of people wait until a few days before buying tickets. I would be perfectly happy with 27K seats by redesigning the East stands and bowling in the endzones. The bank is almost exclusively students now and the new scoreboard will drastically cut into that area. Its hard to sell someone a wet piece of grass for $20, but you can sell them a real seat for $60. Premium seats are nice, but we have some availability in the existing club seats now and we better not lose touch with our core group chasing big money. That is exactly what happened to NASCAR. Meanwhile construction costs continue to rise each year. One thing is certain, we need a long term plan for KBS to show to our fans.

RE: An update on Coastal's Stadium Expansion
There is a wait list for the club seats, many of which are currently occupied by the "core". There is enough demand for these seats to charge $500-$750/season ticket. However, I am concerned if they build club seats the initial donation they'd like to charge to have the rights to purchase the seats.

I agree we do need a long-term plan for KBS and think both our desires (minus bowling in the south endzone) would look very similar.

Our visitor section also sucks but we have GA all the way around the top, save 5 sections on the home side. CCU have that kind of set up? Not sure what the various colors are for.

Colors are just price points. You can buy a seat in any section day of.

Orange are you "Blitz" seats they are the cheapest. Just bench seats.
Bronze are the Bronze seats, they are your mid level prize point. They are bench seats with backs.
Teal is the Teal seats. They are the highest price point outside of the two suites. They are teal chair back seats.

I want to say around 100 members but I'm not certain. Insiders have mentioned they are working to increase the band's quantity. It definitely needs some work to match the quality of the top SBC bands.

RE: An update on Coastal's Stadium Expansion
I find it interesting that some of the SBC fans herein aren't chiding you guys over having an 'erector set' stadium. I distinctly recall some comments about a year or so ago from our brethren in Atlanta about the revamping of an existing baseball stadium being "...better than building a new erector set..." regardless of cost.

Personally, I think what you guys are doing is very prudent, especially given the nature of revenue in the G5 football world. My son participated in one of David Bennett's FB camps the summer of his senior year (2010) and we really enjoyed our visit to Conway and the campus. The stadium was nice, and with the brick facades and supporting facilities you didn't get the impression of a HS facility. Anything you guys can do to get to capacity in a sound, good-looking and affordable way is OK by me.

We're moving to HH later this fall and will be attending more GS games even though Garrett graduated two years ago. We're looking forward to watching GS play up in Conway...it'll make for a nice little trip up the road.

RE: An update on Coastal's Stadium Expansion
I wonder what the capacity needs to be for a bowl game.
The second phase is going to raise capacity to 20700.
I would think corner sections similar to Ohio U or even Montana's could get the capacity to 24-25k.Myrtle Beach would likely help pay for the third phase if a bowl game was guaranteed.

It is nice but small. I think after Phase 2 it'll look more like a FBS stadium. At least you are managing the costs well.
