Western might have a drop off this year, very well could happen. Young coaches usually, lose a game or two, on coaching moves they wont two or three years from now. But one thing is for sure....

there's not G5 school listed in this poll that's had a better combined winning % or wins over the last two seasons than Western. I don't think that will translate to respect from other coaches. Hell they are too busy voting up their conference teams. But it damn well should with the coaches in CUSA.

Don't have a problem with Tech getting votes but when you (coaches) vote a school to win the east for the 3rd straight year. That school Finished last season tied for 5th with most wins and tied for 8th with best winning % nationally and ran through this conference by winning games by over 3 tds. You should at least respect your conference enough to put your 2 time defending champion and according to your vote (for this year) 3time eastern champion....in your top 25.

If you don't then don't go on TV or tell reporters how your team is not getting the respect they deserve. How can you expect some other coach or reporter to respect your conference if the coaches in CUSA don't.

BTW coaches can not vote for their school in the coaches poll

I hope they all voted for the teams they thought the best. Not for the teams in their conference, not for the teams in their state, not for the teams that they are friends with the coach, not for the teams picked by a bunch of reporters or by that cretin in Orlando, and not for the teams whose coach is cousin to their secretary.

I agree

WKU also has perform very poorly against P5 teams, Alabama, Vandy, LSU. I watched those games WKU didnt earn any respect with those performances.
When Tech was ranked in 2012, we lost to #6 (final ranking) Texas A&M by 2, and beat Virginia and Illinois. Respect in polls is earned by competing with P-5 that's just the way it is.

For the most part, ever one performs poorly against Alabama. Clemson without Watson would perform poorly against Alabama. You also don't get respect for beating up a conference ranked last in the CFP standings, especially preseason following the year of that ranking. Marshall's performance matters very much to the perception of the conference as a legacy school and they need to perform better than they did last season to bring the conference back up to a respectable level.

The voice of experience. In the history of the top 25 only 1 Sunbelt has ever been ranked....... and that was for 1 week 03-lmfao

And everyone wakes up to sunshine and a strawberry sunday with whip cream on top. And the moon is made of blue cheese. And there are mermaids swimming in the gulf in Galveston, TX.

Not happening. But it would be nice. If coaches were doing that some think 1/5 of the top 25 should be made up of the AAC.

Alabama is on different level, but WKU also lost to Vandy at home.

When Tech was ranked they lost by 2 to #6 A&M and beat UVA and Illinois at their places

Western held Bama to or below their season average on just about all stats
Western is 1-1 against Vandy and if not for bad coaching on the last Western drive would be 2-2. But other than losing (which is the only stats that really matters) Western out played Vandy hands down last year...

3 turnovers inside the Vandy 20 ( the 2 & 10 & a miss fg) or it's a 21 point win. Western played LSU in a rain storm for 2/3 of that game.

But that really has nothing to do with what I said. And if what a tea did against P5 plays makes a difference...Tech got the crap knocked out of them against far worse P5 schools. Texas Tech, Mississippi State.

If CUSA coaches don't respect getting the dog crap beat out of them every time they took the field against Western over those 2 years....

don't expect any other coaches to

I wouldn't complain if Tech didn't have any votes. Just saying a team can't perform that poorly against P5 an expect to be respected in the rankings.

You should from coaches in your conference....

it seems to work that way in other conferences. Of course I don't know how any of them voted (guess I could find out somewhere but not putting in that much time on it) but when you have 5 AAC schools and 2 SBC schools and at least 2 MAC schools getting votes....

I assume a lot of those votes are coaches playing the game. A game of voting up conference schools because it looks better for that conference.

I understand that. I think it is mostly to do with WKU's new coach. Coaches know how tough it is when starting a new program

We know the Sunbelt coaches voted for their teams, nobody respects them03-lmfao

If it was a Tech fan was saying this YG would be crapping all over that person.

The truth of the matter is nobody is fooled by this. No one thinks Nick Saban is voting for Troy or App State. First loss and all these teams are gone until later in the season when/if they get the 10th or 11th win. Ergo this whole point about CUSA coaches voting for conference mates in the preseason is rather pointless.

bull****. you would but not me. Just as you did in the fans poll.

I would be saying the same even if it was Middle. As a coach you have very little control over how others view your team or the conference they play in. Coaches voting in these polls should use that vote as a tool for the conference. Especially when it wouldn't be a hinky vote to begin with. This Western team won more games (by a large point spread) than all G5 schools over the last 2 years. All but 1 last year.

The same coaches voted Western as the #1 team in the east so it wouldn't have been a out of this world vote to use their vote and put Western in their top 25. Not any more so than the coaches putting 5 AAC in their top 25. Even a Houston team that is replacing their coach and all world QB...

Uh no. I called out the homerism only after you had called out others for doing it. I wasn't being a whiny little ***** because my team didn't get voted in a certain way. That soley belongs to your right now. Own it.
