Thank Goodness! With White Block A's on the athletics center and Soefield Indoor Facility it would have been looked pretty stupid to put Black on the scoreboard. Don't know why they put this out to a fan vote anyway.

The east and west stands are still further back from the field because of the track. The new north seating was built closer to the field. Another issue you can run into is building codes. The new portion of Bobcat Stadium doesn't actually touch the old part. There is a very small gap. If they touched, the old part would have to be brought up to code. I could see redoing their stadium in a similar way to TXST. I wish the stadium didn't look patchwork at times but it is a nice stadium and I think it is the best way to do it without building a new one from scratch or tearing down and rebuilding each side at a high cost.
Same issue at Bobby Dodd Stadium. The I believe four sections of stands are independent of each other.

Isn't part of Bobby Dodds seating built over original stands? In other words, the old stands are still in place behind/underneath the existing stands?

3rd pole and some other huge beam were installed today. I wish message boards had servers that could allow image uploading.

The sheer size of this thing is impressive, you get a great feel with that guy standing on the beams moving that NC Lottery banner into position just how massive. I wonder if this will assist with more crowd noise at field level since essentially that end zone now has a huge wall capping it in.

I'm confused as to why this thing has corners? I thought they only made these in oval.

I hear they will add a vignette effect for the southern game so that y'all aren't too thrown off. 04-cheers
