Thanks for the pic. Only thing I would change would be to get rid of that awful color on the covers and paint em Blazer Green.

They look closer to Blazer Green in the other photos/videos...so who knows what the actual color is.

So does anyone know what the "capacity" is now with those seats blocked off?

Probably close to that give or take. I was thinking between 45-50.

According to the Park Board letter, the total capacity of the east and west stands is 26,000 between the goal lines with no seats covered by tarp. Add in the end zone seats and those in the curves, you probably increase that number by about half. Has anyone seen a figure for how many sideline seats have been covered by the top and bottom tarps?

Nope. 26,000 between the goal lines on each side. 52,000 total between the goal lines.

Nope. 26,000 between the goal lines on each side. 52,000 total between the goal lines.

I was quoting the Park Board letter (copies of which I distributed at a BlazerTalk meeting for a radio call-in show) as they wrote it. The letter clearly stated that the TOTAL seats between the goal lines for both east and west stands was 26,000 -- down from 35,000 with the upper deck removed. Your disagreement is with them, not with me.

Logic tells one that there are more than 18,000 seats (70,000 - 52,000) in the end zones, the curves and the north and south end stands combined.

Logic tells one that there aren't roughly 45,000 (71000-26000) seats in the end zone.

The end zones PLUS the curves PLUS the north and south ends. Yes, there are about 45,000 seats TOTAL
That is why I questioned the design of a horseshoe shaped OCS where a majority of seats would be lower value end zone and beyond seating. Note how many of the newer modern stadium designs opt for double decking (maximizing higher value) sideline seating. There is a good reason why press boxes are not put in the end zones.

I thought everyone agreed that was a misprint.

I think the main problem "everyone" is having is to deal with an unhappy reality, but perhaps a moderator could get a new letter from the Park & Rec Board specifying the disposition of seats according to "between the goal lines", end zones and beyond at north & south ends.
