It's a survey, fan opinion is the point. Stop telling people who to call a rival. Fill out your own survey. Nobody has come on and criticized your picks.
I included Fresno, I know that don't see us as a rival, but when we beat them, we get increased attention in the Valley. Same thing with GCU/ASU/UA in Phoenix/AZ.

I agree that Fresno State is a rival to CSUB. You have a history of playing each other along with the close proximity. However, your argument that fans can just pick out any team and say it's a rival is kinda ludicrous. GCU fans might as well say the Phoenix Suns are their rivals.

No one would argue my picks. Logical, not made up fantasy rivalries.

Its a SURVEY. They want to know what people perceive.

When zero ASU fans list GCU in the final results, your point will be validated. I think ASU fans will honestly get a kick out of seeing GCU fans listing them

That is true but then again UW or WSU fans wouldn't list Seattle.

I didnt list WSU, nor have we ever played them till this season. So no, doubt any SU or WSU fan would list the other. WSU refused to play Dollar-led Redhawk teams, according to Dollar.
If a UW fan doesnt list SU, then its done out of spite or personal defintion of a rival needing to be competitive, as they have played every single year and both schools recognize it as a rivalry. Though admittedly, UW fans would rank SU below WSU, UO, and Zags.

RE: Know Your Rival
I just don't understand how it can be a rivalry when UW has won almost every game. No dig at Seattle I just don't think UW cares at all. I also think GCU ASU could be a great rivalry eventually if they play each other but until that happens it's not.

Well if UW and the Seattle Times keep referring to it as one, Im gonna stick with it being one. Plus until this year it was always Dollar vs Romar, former assistant vs former boss. Tons of players who played in it grew up playing against each other too. Lots of fans have connections (and degrees) to both schools as well.
You're also not thinking of how they played each other twice a year before SU left D1. There is a longer history before SU returned to D1. A much longer one.
SU and UW played twice a year from 1969-1980, but only once before that in 1952. UW refused to play SU (like they refused to play Gonzaga for so long) during the late 50s and early 60s when SU was the king of the PNW and making Final Four and Sweet 16s.

But, if/when ASU decides to play GCU and begins to loose a few, they will notice and stop getting a kick out of it.
Im sure zero Fresno fans would list CSUB as a rival (particularly in MBB...baseball might be different story) But, if it's a yearly ooc series, and fairly evenly split, that may affect their (FSU) perception after a time.
Currently mobile....away from the house or on the 'throne.'
