No, because I'm a realist, not a pessimist.

And there it is

Here is the thing. I don't expect the team to play well the first half of the season. Even if we had a top 25 recruiting class I wouldn't expect that. I think it will take at least half of the season for the team to start looking the way it should.

So this report; if it is factual, doesn't bother me.

The specific media guys who make specific lists Of rankings want to be right. Otherwise they could hire Tigerscane

They beat them by 10 or 12, which is a bit more than barely. And it was a pickup game. I wouldn't try to attempt to use a pick up game as a predictive indicator of competitive basketball.

All this stuff is just twitter rumors at this point. Sorry, I should have clarified that.

If 3 of the Tigers were freshmen against Team Penny wouldn't be too shocked. Those guys are just getting out of high school themselves.

exactly..

just getting out of high school + just getting out of Junior College + two returning players + AAC teams returning experienced players = Memphis Tigers 8th or 9th

Factor in Hope and you get 6th or 7th

I didn't make this equation. shrug

I agree with him. And he just provided the litmus test to the difference between a realist and a pessimist: Do you grumble about the same thing on a daily basis?

That is the point cscott was making.

And according to Jason, John, Brad - one of those mediaheads on 92.9 who are not pro-Tubby by any stretch - the same thing happened last summer with a similar result. They said nothing to see here.

When you stop quoting me and replying, I will believe you don't care.

If last season's results float any boats around here, along with the offseason recruiting that has fallen short, then I wonder what has gotten into Tiger fans.

It's more anti AOB for me at this point.

We got a reprieve when Pastner quit. I thought it could not get worse with him as coach. I was wrong.

It's like the decision makers in football all those years have changed to basketball.

Sad to see for me, frankly.
