2017-18 Basketball Schedule
We appear to have been their first home OOC game set and with signed contract, then they had all of the player issues and Matta stepping aside. So, possible they had less leverage at that point and had to up the ante to lock in the remainder of the games.

I think we are missing 2 away money games, unless is Mason is paying us, which I doubt.

2017-18 Basketball Schedule
ODU game is Sat, Nov 25th, per their schedule release. Football game at Richmond is a 3pm start time, so will make for a very tight run, even if the start time is not till typical 7pm at Kap. Hope we will consider a 7:30 start, and certainly not make for a conflict with any afternoon start time.

My bad...well hopefully we will have had a surprise football run and have a playoff bye that day, or at the very least a first round game at Zable that afternoon, with the game afterwards.

Here's hoping it isn't a surprise. Let's expect it!

We have a history of doing better when it's not expected of us than when we are favored by a bunch (i.e. from 2016 the Elon game vs the Richmond game) going back a long way. Whatever attitude and expectations we need to get there is what I want to have.

I'm at a Manassas gym watching my son practice and a JMU signee is shooting next to me. 6'5 SG out of Bishop O'Connell (Matt Lewis). Man, how I'd like to see him in a Tribe jersey.

Did we recruit him? Nice shooter.

We didn't recruit him, but we (along with most majors) offered his teammate Xavier Johnson. An argument could be made that Lewis was the more impactful player. He is a very solid signing.

Scary that he is only about the 4th or 5th best in their five man class. They will be very good in a year or two, if they stick together.

RE: 2017-18 Basketball Schedule
This all remains very quiet outside the confirmed game at Mason on 12/6 and the assumption at Marshall that they will be playing at Kaplan this Fall.

Among all the tournaments, there are still two possibilities:

Gulf Coast Classic in Esotero (Fort Meyers) FL
11/20 - 11/22
Full bracket tournament, 8 teams - all mid major
Started in 2014
Field for 2017: Penn is the only confirmed team so far, 7 TBA
Seems like a good possible option for W&M

Bahamas Showcase
11/17 - 11/20
Another mid major tourney
Needs one for 8 team field.
Already in: Weber State, Vermont, Coastal Carolina, Iona, Bradley, UTSA, NKU

Given it is almost August, so many others have already released their OOC schedules and we still can only be linked to 5 other team's schedules - I wonder if we may be getting close to confirming one of these. We are missing up to 7 known games so far.

Sounds like we will be getting 7 D-II teams on the schedule this season...

RE: 2017-18 Basketball Schedule
The Jamaica trip and an early season tournament would provide a lot of opportunity for the team to jell. Is there any chance that both would happen in the same year?

Can we afford a trip to Jamaica and the Bahamas/Gulf Coast in one season?

RE: 2017-18 Basketball Schedule
This is a young team that is relatively inexperienced and not very deep. It doesn't seem like a good season to sign up for a 3 game in season tournament. Would rather the team experience some success.

Good season to play in the CIT/CBI?

That cuts to the heart of it, I think. Well done!
