RE: AAC will never measure up to Power 5
The Big East never got the same amount of money as the other BCS conferences. So you should count the wins by UConn, UC and USF vs nonBig East BCS teams while in the Big East years.

Wins by a non-BCS AQ/ P5 over BCS AQ/P5 since 2003:
T1. Navy 23
T1. BYU 23
3. Boise State 15
T4. Fresno State 14
T4. Houston 14
6. East Carolina 13
7. Hawai'i 10
T8. NIU 9
T8. Toledo 9

Navy's 23 wins came with 33 losses - a .410 winning percentage. That is in line with historic record against current P5 - 193-219-16 for a .451 winning percentage

EVEN MORE REASON FOR MY DREAM TO COME TRUE AND NIU JOINS THE P6

But that's proves the AAC's ability to compete with the P5 - just give the AAC schools the schedule opportunities to compete year after year & there will be demonstrated equity.

Ya...It'd be like including UC, USF, and UCONN on this list.

But then Navy probably wouldn't be #1, which would screw up his slant.

The discussion is about those without the resource advantages being able to consistently win against those with the resource advantages. You got BCS money while in the Big East, so any wins over other Big East teams are irrelevant to the point. 2006 Navy win over Edsall-coached, Big East funded UConn does count.

It's not that hard.

Congratulations, you are the tallest midget.

Ha ha ha on the ECU unintentional irony: the ONLY reason I started commenting on this thread was the Pirate fan chest-beating about being the tallest midget, P5-beater category. #fakepiratenews.
So if you want to get the pirate chorus going that ECU is NOT the tallest midget I will listen to that song all night.

I am now officially looking forward to 2020 and scoring another 66 points at Dowdy Ficklen.

RE: AAC will never measure up to Power 5
Look, ECU historically has upset and in recent years were favorites against NC FBS P5 programs. While that chip was great for those games, I believe that chip hurt them in conference play in their history. They rarely took that attitude with opposing conference teams. I think App will will have that chip towards ECU. ECU will become the hunted as App becomes the new hunter. Especially since NCSU and UNC really have made no effort to renew the series with UNC with one game left and NCSU with two. With the addition of App and Charlotte, the threat of legislators considering mandating the games now becomes unruly. Still if the B12 keeps intact, I would like to see ECU be one the teams picked. WVU and ECU could become a hello of a rival game.

ECU belongs with Marshall, ODU, Charlotte, and Southern Miss. Nothing they have done since entering the AAC has shown otherwise... in fact its been just the opposite. No investment... They've divested.
OTOH, Tulane has been investing. New coaches in the main sports. They'll right the ship with time.

I propose a trade: ECU for Old Dominion

Winners: AAC, CUSA, ECU, ODU

Losers: No one

No investment? What the **** are you smoking? Aside from the Lebo debacle we've invested a damned plenty and still are.

I showed 15 but then that included TCU when we played them.

Only counted teams that were BCS/P-5 at the time we played.

TCU didn't become BCS/P-5 until they joined Big 12 in 2011. We last played them in 2007, in the Texas Bowl.

TCU played in the MWC in 2011. They played their first game as a Big 12 member in 2012.
After SWC broke up & TCU:
1996-2000: WAC
2001-2004: CUSA
2005-2011: MWC
2012-present: Big 12.
