Calipari putting feelers out for the Knicks job
http://www.espn.com/nba/story/_/id/19770...ources-say

No interest from the Knicks in having him as president of operations. LOL

Cal always wants what he can't have.

He has the best job in college basketball and it's still not enough for him.

At some point I hope he will find peace in being at ease with what he has.

This is just another shot at another pay raise. He doesn't want the Knicks job, it is a loser. He wants to coach Lebron or Golden State.

Calipari, one of the most accomplished basketball coaches in NCAA history.....

It just hurts.

It was a helluva run.

He proved we can do it like a blue blood.

That hasn't changed.

We are the right coach and four years away from a National Championship.

And it won't cost us ONE CENT .

Time is of the essence.

RE: Calipari putting feelers out for the Knicks job
Probably just another ploy to make UK appreciate him and not take it for granted that he will always be their coach. Calipari has never given a flip about a particular school and wants them to know that he could leave in a heartbeat if he so desired. On the flip side,he could just be burned out from the pressure and expectations at UK and wants to get a job that does not involve coaching or recruiting. At any rate, I predict he will end his actual coaching career at UK.

Or, the NCAA is sniffing around Lexington...

I'll never doubt John Calipari. The guy is a PR genius. Unlike another who exists at the other extreme. Oh, and his fruit which hasn't fallen far from the tree.

He gets his name out there just so he can get back in the news. His ego needed to be stroked again.

I'll agree with you, there - he is the king of hype and doesn't miss an angle. And yes, selling your vision for your program to both fans and recruits is a part of a coach's job.

The biggest myth there is about Cal. Three D1 jobs lasting 8, 9 and now going on his 9th year at Kentucky.

Eh...

He wants to conquer what he failed at previously...Cant fault him there. The easy route is to stay put and collect his money.

Unsure he could do that job. Wouldn't surprise me if he coaches in the NBA again.

Penny would be a great choice. But right now we have a great coach.

Penny would be a great choice. But right now we have a great coach.

Hire an x and o guy and an organizational assistant, both seasoned vets.

Hire a relentless recruiter.

Get ALL the local stars and swing for the fence with national 4 and 5 star prospects.

Wash, rinse, repeat.

I think Penny can get it done.
