I saw that on instagram just now. I have a feeling that gcu and Nevada didn't sign a deal because the Nevada beat writer has been announcing each game as its signed. I wanted to be THAT guy who wears the hat of one team and the shirt of the other team..confusing everyone at the game

Hey Brillio, Had you heard Nevada and GCU were working on a deal? I don't see why GCU would not schedule teams like Nevada and UNLV. I imagine DM has a relationship with Mussellman from their NBA days and the time he spend here at ASU and we know DM's connection to MM. I also do not understand why GCU does not play NAU every year.

RE: Men's Basketball Schedule
I never heard anything other than coach speak of "no one will play us" which who knows how much of that is true. I just know we need home games bad. We only have two scheduled so far, neither of which is very sexy. GCU would be a great series for recruiting and travel.. and we could slap a game at asu or ua onto the trip as well.

Less than an hour till it comes, and I'm hoping we have some home games between Christmas and New Years since I'll be in Phoenix all that week. Keep a good thought!

RE: Men's Basketball Schedule
Schedule out- did I read it right? Zero OOC road games till after Christmas?

Also, no home games when I'm there between Christmas and New Years. There's the game at Orleans against Morgan state on dec 27.

It's too bad our nmsu home game is on a Thursday this year, which means I can't go. Dang

Overall- looks like we'll have a bad SOS- the road games against Louisville and Illinois won't cancel out all the home games against the swac and meac teams.

I don't like the lack of road games to be honest

We had a pretty decent get with UALR, they were a Cinderella at the tourney back in 2016. I wish we did have a tough ooc though, we have a veteran team and they should be able to handle that.

RE: Men's Basketball Schedule
The most interesting game I think is the Morgan state game where we will be playing in the orleans arena before we get to WAC Tournament play. As far as "road tests" it's all about winning the game that you have scheduled and they don't have to be great teams. At the end of the day I'll take a win against a terrible opponent at home than get body slammed on the road against Duke.

I wonder if there's another game scheduled at the Orleans that day. I'll probably end up going to that game, but having two scheduled would be a nice way to spend the day

We I think you need the road test in the ooc so that way you don't drop a duece on the road in WAC play. The ooc games should be preparing you for league play and I don't really feel like thus does.

So what are the games at Louisville and at Illinois right before conference play begins considered? The high profile road WAC games are both closer towards the end of the year, being NMSU and Bakersfield. Yes, you can't sleepwalk against anybody in the WAC because it's sports and sports can be unpredictable.

It feels like a big ten type of OOC to me.. but they have the luxury of having big ten conference games to help their sos. It sorta takes away any chance of an at-large bid, no matter how small that chance was

WAC is not an at-large conference. Not now, and not for a long time. SOS really doesn't mean much.

Also getting an at large bid is hard to impossible now. The selection committee is in favor of giving bids to P5 or Big East teams, no matter how ****** they are.

Yup - build an OOC conference with getting team ready for conference play, and respectable enough that you can work towards a 12-14 seed.

Well of course! We need to make room for the 9th place team in the ACC!

Yeah it for sure could have been better, especially with the scheduling that we had last year

Me either. I am pretty disappointed in this schedule going into Year 5.
