NCAA Hands Down Punishment on Louisville
https://sports.yahoo.com/rick-pitino-sus...11751.html

Louisville could be the first school to have a championship season vacated.

The NCAA’s Committee on Infractions ruled Thursday that the Cardinals will have to vacate victories in which players competed while ineligible from December 2010 to July 2014, but its release did not definitively state that the school’s 2013 national title banner will come down.

The punishment is the culmination of an investigation that began in August 2015 when Louisville learned that escort Katina Powell was set to release a tell-all book. Powell’s book alleged that former Louisville basketball staffer Andre McGee paid for strippers and escorts to dance for or have sex with Cardinals players and recruits at parties typically held in the on-campus basketball dorm named for Pitino’s late brother-in-law.

The NCAA ruled that Louisville coach Rick Pitino failed to properly monitor his program and suspended him for the first five ACC games of the 2017-18 season. Among the other more minor penalties that Louisville received are scholarship reductions, recruiting limitations and four years of probation.

Louisville self-imposed a postseason ban for 2016. Probably deserves a second year though.

Its total BS. There are no stiff penalties for the Louisvilles, UNC's and Ole Misses of the world.

RE: NCAA Hands Down Punishment on Louisville
BE Ncaa tournament credits stayed with the AAC after the new BE was formed and the 2013-2014 credits were directly the AAC's. The AAC takes the financial hit for Louisville's sleaze since those credits are now forfeit.

The Cardinals crap the nest wherever they roost--Metro conf., Great Midwest, Big East, AAC, etc. Surprised that Cusa doesn't take a hit here.

He basically had a cookout. IIR, Aaron Craft, who ended up having a very good career at Ohio St, was the player that got him in trouble somehow. Pearl got hammered.

Only because he outright lied to NCAA investigators and then got his asst coaches to lie...THAT'S what they were mad about...not the cookout.

Rick 'cooperated' and just played dumb...he blamed his asst coach for everything

Pearl's lie could be proven because he took a freaking picture with the recruit at the party (idiot)...it wasn't until they confronted him with the pic that he changed his tune...can you prove Rick knew? Because so far the NCAA can't prove it.
