Self-imposed bans are awful. The players at the time get penalized that had nothing to do with the violations. What they should do is not accept self-imposed bans for the current year, and accept them for the following year while allowing any player who wishes to transfer to do so without restriction.

The way the recent seniors at Louisville, Syracuse, etc. have been treated in regards to the self-imposed ban halfway-or-more through the season is disgraceful.

The players knew they were signing on a scumbag U. You sleep with dogs you may get fleas.

Toss their University Foundation into the mix as well. Some disturbing revelations have emerged from there of late.

is anyone amazed that Chane Behanan was supposedly one of the 3 that were major parts of this story? We knew from day 0.1 that something was fishy with how he switched so quickly.

Was talking to a UofL alum this morning at the gym. Boy is he pissed. Wants Ricky fired and some other heads to roll.

That being said he rubbed it in that they are in a power conference making > than $30M a year and playing at Duke, UNC, etc. while we are stuck playing Tulane and East Carolina for pennies. He figures they'll get Billy D. or Gregg Marshall after RP leaves. They got the money, the exposure and play in the best conference in the country. Can't say I disagree with him.

RE: When Little Ricky is let Go
Louisville, a slightly smaller metro than Cincy, has no major league sports and no other high profile D1 program in town. They've accomplished a lot with winning, building great facilities and cultivating fans. Imagine a larger city (Cincinnati) without the major league competition and how corporate dollars and fan support would flow into Nippert and Fifth Third? In that scenario, Cincy would surely be in a P5.

I believe that still happens (in zero to five years) but my hope is UC continues to operate the athletic program with the integrity that has made all of us proud this past decade plus. CLF is going to win here and Mick, if not winning championships, will still keep the basketball program high profile, winning lots of games with good student athletes. We should all be Proudly Cincinnati. Louisville has a long, arduous journey to clean up a damaged institutional reputation.

My guess is they'll want to distance themselves from RP. My UofL buddy believes the same (when he brought up Billy D. I reminded him he is a Pitino protégé). On top of all that, Louisville will likely want to go with someone who has a better track record and will make a bigger splash.

That's a real dick move. I mean he's right at the end of the day re their payoff but still. College sports are a joke really.

Oh no! UC fans piling on right now - funny. In a few years, UC football will be playing MAC-type games on Tuesday night while UofL plays for National Championships.

They did whatever was necessary to make it happen. UC was too high-brow, or too stupid, to get it done. At least we can rest easy that our program is squeaky clean just like Mount Union or Wilmington. Now there is good news when it comes to basketball - we can play for that coveted 6th seed.

That's pretty much the gist of our discussion. He even made the comment that he does not want UofL to just be happy to make the tournament every year.

I should note for the record he likes UC and wishes we were in the ACC. He is paying tuition to our school for his two children.

Who isn't piling on? Has nothing to do with UC. Every fanbase is piling on right now. It's the nature of the beast called sports. Your program does something outside of the rules and common decency and everyone else piles on. Only difference is they are shielded by the P5 and a UC would not receive the same deferential treatment.

Typically I would like fans to avoid the personal stuff but I loved when the uc students chanted Karen ciphers name. Rick pitino is a vile piece of sh*t and he sold his soul a long time ago. He won't get enough crap in life to equal the riches he got. But such is life. He being a good catholic I'm sure will go to confession and all will be absolved.

Haven't seen that attach itself to Cal or Pitino in any meaningful way yet! Last I checked, that UL 2013 championship banner is still hanging....

Cal had a couple of titles vacated, but all that happened to him was to land one of the premiere jobs in all of NCAA DI Ball.

List for me a program with multiple national championships devoid of scandal....you can't do it because it does not exist.

That should tell you something.

Do tell. Please do tell about all the info your sanctimonious azz has on every national championship winner and the list of their infractions. I will patiently await your response. Cal has had 2 final fours vacated you freaking moron. Do some research before you post your nonsense. Last you checked? That banner is coming down after the appeal, of course it is not down now. I nominate you for the most incredibly dumbest piece of BS ever posted on here.

Yeah, uh got to call BS on this one. That burr in your bonnet is never going away no matter what UC does. Sorry, you may want to play in the filth, that's on you. I do not want my University any where near that..

When Scumbag Pitino retires it will be difficult to keep Mick.

Mick does have interest in UL and barring the unforeseen they are very likely to have interest in Mick.

Gotta face it. UL is a decent sized town with no competing pro sports.UL is the big game in town. They have a huge budget support the programs like crazy and the coaches get whatever they ask for.

You think Pitino would have to personally campaign and get donor commitments to renovate a locker room?

If anything I think Micks lack of issues make him too clean for UL fans taste. They might wonder whether he would do whatever it takes to win.
