RE: OT: Stanley Cup
With all of those people you would think that area was closed to cars. Nope...most of the roads going through the mob of fans were open. We go to Nashville (about a 2 hour drive) on average 2 times a month and yesterday was one of those. I had no clue about this game till we got there. I know 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 6th, 7th, 8th street was open to crossing traffic. Probably 4th and 5th also...we just never went down those.

Not just downtown, most of the city was flying the gold/yellow, any where you went

RE: OT: Stanley Cup
Predators finally got some breaks the Pigeons were getting in Games 1 and 2, and Rinne looked like himself Saturday....Hopefully Preds win tonight, if they do I think Nashville is in really good shape....

You must live in a cave if you did not now know the Predators had a game Saturday, just saying....

ESPN barely covers hockey at all....They are too busy talking about Lebron....Even if not a fan hard to miss Nashville Predators hype surrounding this run if you live anywhere near Nashville...

Anyways we got a new series! Hopefully in Nashville Pekka traves to Pittsbrugh and we can win this thing Sunday! GO PREDS!

WDF is up withe Renne (sp?) in Pittsburgh?

WDF is up with each home team looking unbeatable and the road team looking like trash?

As a new fan of hockey, I don't get the huge swing and loss of momentum. It is very intriguing.

I get home advantage, but wow.

The link below shows the winning percentages at home and away for this season for all NHL franchises. What's interesting here is that the Penguins and Predators are #1 and #2 respectively when it comes to the disparity between their home records and away records.

The Pens won 79.5% of their home games and 52.6% of their away games for a 26.9% difference, while the Preds won 68.3% of their home games and 43.6% of their away games for a 24.7% disparity. That might explain this series in a nutshell, as home ice seems to make a bigger difference for both of these teams (at least this year) than it does for anyone else.

RE: OT: Stanley Cup
Yea I don't understand how one of the top goaltenders can be unreal at home and on the road look like complete trash for only one series in these playoffs.....Rinne is giving up basic goals that he should stop on the road that he does not give up at home....Just unreal the difference between home and away for this series....Would like to know last time all Stanley Cup Final games were all blowouts going to the home team.....Either way this series is over, no way Predators can win in Pittsburgh apparently....If they do go back to Pitt for Game 7 which I think they will, they need to change something routines up and do something completely different then they have the last 3 games, obviously not working in Pitt...At this point I just don't think they can overcome mentally the last 3 games they have played at Pittsburgh in this series, would be one thing if most of the games were like Game 1 where they at least played really well minus a 6 min. stretch....

RE: OT: Stanley Cup
The incessant whining about Rinne's up-and-down performances got old days ago. And those of you who keep bringing it up don't say a word about the Pens' Murray conceding only 4 goals in 3 games in Pittsburgh and 9 goals in 2 games in Nashville. It's the same damn thing. So can we stop beating a dead horse and enjoy the rest of the series?
