Surprised we went to Sandlin so quickly.

I'm not....perfectly coached today!

Roberts has performed in relief lately...

...and lately is what matters

I really did not like bringing Sandlin in there. And would have rather seen Driver get the ball to start the ninth than Roberts and at least give him two batters.

Burdeaux is hitless in his last 23 at-bats with 8 K's.

What speaks volumes about this team is that the Conference USA Player of the Year can go into a slump like this and our offense doesn't really miss a beat. IF one guy is slumping, the lineup is so strong that you can pretty much guarantee there's another guy surging to make up for him.

take notice we didn't strand many......

why do you always tend to look at it from the negative perspective???

that's really strange....

this team is solid in belief and understands how to pick up the other when things go south.....there's a reason they stranded those runners....

Irby has been a monster with Braley knocking out dingers/walks like he owns it.....and Wallner.....well, he's just too much fun to watch.....

Sandlin to Roberts was a genius move IMO.....Roberts has been hot lately....and with a 5 run lead, it's tough to screw that up.....

many possibilities on the mound tomorrow if Colt struggles early....

That's my point. It was a five-run lead. Try to avoid using your two best guys with a five-run lead.

Have him ready to go but let Driver come in and give him a short leash.

Not sure what the possibilities are that you see if Colt struggles early. Roberts and Sandlin have both thrown over 130 pitches the last eight days and both struggled today.

McCarty is off limits until a potential elimination game. Presumably,he would start.

That leaves Wallner, who has pitched, what, two times in the last two months. And then no one with a sub-5.00 ERA.

If State gets to Smith early, things get really uncomfortable.

I know you know baseball.....we had to win today - just like yesterday.....but neither Sandlin nor Roberts abused the pitch count today where they don't show tomorrow in game 1 or if necessary....and as I previously mentioned, we have JC, Tweedy bird, Stephens, etc that haven't tossed a pitch to date

and I agree....McCarty is only available in a game 2 scenario and starts until he tires....

we have 2 to lose tomorrow before we start the worrying.....just enjoy the ride.....this has been one for ages to watch unfold....

I feel really good going into Monday.....it's better than I felt last weekend coming out of the loser's side....

edit: at the age of 20, I don't worry about their pitch count over an 8 day span at this point in the season.....if they can go, you let 'em hunt....

I think Keys is going to start the first game. Colt was warming up in the bullpen both games. Keys nowhere to be found.
