Isn't Stanford the team that got a national seed ahead of us because they didn't have to play a conference tournament?

This is just so awful for college sports. This cannot be allowed to continue. The programs with all the money need to take their balls and play with themselves, I mean, each other. How can they continue to let the little guys play in their tournaments? They need to split and run like they have in football to make sure the little guy has no shot at the big trophy.

Yes, but I'm not sure if Stanford losing to CSF is evidence that they shouldn't have gotten a national seed. Their resume was very strong, and CSF was the two seed, not a four like Iowa, Davidson, TN Tech, etc...

Speaking of Florida St, they have 39 straight seasons with at least 40 wins. That's thirty-nine years in a row. With 23 seasons with at least 50 wins mixed in during that period. That's incredible. Nevertheless, they have never won the World Series.

Texas Southern jumps to a 5-0 lead in the 2nd, only to give up 5 runs in the bottom half of the 2nd to Rice. Inning still going for the Owls who have bases loaded with 2 outs. Pitcher for Texas Southern threw 54 pitches in the second and just got pulled.

Probably the result of some vast right-wing conspiracy.

SI has Hburg as the toughest regional

Regional of Death candidates: Strap in for some fun baseball at the Hattiesburg Regional, where Conference-USA regular season champ Southern Miss hosts a loaded four-team field that includes Mississippi State, South Alabama and Illinois-Chicago. Mississippi State’s Brent Rooker hit 21 home runs in the regular season, tied for fifth nationally. South Alabama tallied mid-week wins against Mississippi State, LSU and Auburn before claiming the school’s first Sun Belt title since 2005—plus, the Jaguars eliminated Southern Miss from the tournament last year. Even UIC won a road series at Vanderbilt on its way to a Horizon League title.

A trip to Baton Rouge is the likely reward....
